I fail to see how you can have a Westerns category featuring none of the Dollars trilogy or Once Upon A Time in the West :g:
Also, yes 2001: A Space Odyssey is a fine piece of art from Kubrick, but it's the sort of film that really doesn't invite repeat viewing and would never make an audiences top ten of sci-fi.
In my opinion that's why the choices here are so poor, as TL said - too much focus on the art, and not enough on the entertainment.
P.S. don't knock BTTF BB - I adored that film when it was released, and still do. Timeless fun :) The sequels are ropey, but the original is a classic.

Once Upon... - I absolutely agree. It is in my top 10 (with the whole list currently containing 1551 films :)). That movie intro is the best ever. And then this dialogue as the bad guys at the train station are about to leave, when they realise Bronson actually got off the train, but on the other side. As the train moves away, he stands there, and the three goons opposite.

One of my favorite parts from any film ever. Hearing that short harmonica tune makes the hairs on my neck stand up every time.
Also, in the final gunfight:
Harmonica: So, you found out you're not a businessman after all.
Frank: Just a man.
