Hmmm... How come I am 2 seconds faster in the 1 hour race, with a full tank, than I've been all week? Must be the wind!
The wind of luck was good for me also. I spun in lap 8 or 9, loosing a place to OldBloke and seeing Verner disappear in the distance and had to calm myself down. Took the place back from Oldbloke and thanks to his and Lameducks misfortune the gap became large enough for me to spin again without loosing places this time. Well, I lost it to Verner, but he had just pitted and I still had to, so he would have overtaken me anyway.
Quite happy with 8th place (I believe) some of the front runners ran into punctures, chicane barricades, each other or a combination of those and I settled into 6th place. Then Verner must have made a mistake because the 20 second gap all of a sudden was 5 seconds. I caught up to him and wasn't too keen on overtaking, because we were comfortably going around, with no treads from the back.
Would I be in front of him, I would start pushing myself over the limit. Sadly (and to my luck) he missed T1 and with a 10 seconds gap I went into the last few minutes of the race and finished 5th.
I understand that this was only possible because we missed some of the fast ones like Venca and Romus. Where was yous!!?!?
Good race all! Enjoyed it and it definitely did NOT feel like an hour. AT ALL!!!

I chose between watching Germany-Portugal with good friends and one stranger from Nepal and 1h race with about ten practice laps done. This time I was happy with my choice, what an entertaining match.

heheh, my win was a complete steel :norty: . Deetz and Willi where having a rare old dingdong up the front, till things went pear shaped for both, next thing I know I'm 1st place. I think I only passed one car for the whole race, that was boogle near the start, who unfortunately got disconnected shortly after, if I recall.
commiserations to the DNFers, but well done all who took part.
I qualified in 11th position, had a good start & managed to get up to 9th after Dee's first lap spin. I was keeping up nicely with OldBloke until I took the hairpin too closely, spun on the grass & lost 4 places recovering (SFDPH).:ranting2: The rest of the race was spent slowly clawring my way back, nothing spectacular. I felt I had a good setup this week (thanks Nick) & was a lot more competative. I eventually finished 8th - never thought I'd get points on this server. :yahoo: Another 5 discos & I might've been on the podium.:norty:

After a heart stopping moment when i lost all my game controls AGAIN(why on a thursday):g:But this time a reboot did the job.
Had a poor quali but still got 6th.Race started followed by 59mins of hot lapping:eyebrow:Still all in all a good nights racing.
