Sorry guys but there is no longer the support needed within the community for us to continue to provide a BF2 server. It has served as well over the past three years and I bet I'm not the only one who has fond memories of hard fought battles (normally prelonged due to the excellent work of 'Nurse Blunt' :) ).
On behalf of the community I offer my thanks to everyone who put in a huge amount of effort over the years to ensure that we were providing a BF2 experience built around our teamwork ethos. It was a success and was let down only by the failure of the developers to provide the patch that would have made it perfect.:eyebrow:
So what now?
Well we wanted to make sure that one door closing was accompanied by another opening so expect to see an announcement about dMw's new 'Call of Duty 4' server later today.
A shame, I got in to BF2 quit a bit again but due to circumstances couldn't join alot on Monday (apartment and da_Ricci's house).
I do look forward to an CoD4-server as I haven't played the newest maps and haven't played CoD4 recently...
Greetings, -=[dMw]=-DuVeL, Lieutenant Colonel in BF2.

Sadly it had got to the point that we were running a server 24/7 for 4 people to use one night a week - it just didn't make sense.
I think we all will wave a sad goodbye to BF2:byebye:
But special thanks to Lib for all the work he did on the AAS code

Very good point. BF2 without AAS was appalling.
......
Aye, very sad. It is the game that brought me to dMw and over the last 6 months it's the game I've played the most.
I wanted to be there as well, but forgot we had a national holiday thing where we burn witches and get drunk, so no gaming at 9 PM Danish time. I was on at 7 and 8 PM to see if there were people on, but the server was not available (server was probably already taken down by then).
I guess playing BF2 for another clan is okay now? If so, is RIP or BIG still a good place to be? AFAIK from a couple of Danish friends, RIP costs money to support the server. Does BIG still play BF2?

We played on the RiP-server the other day, not worth it to be honoust as it seems to be bunnyhoppers all the way. Also some other weird stuff but I don't type that on a public-forum.

Nope, server was not taken offline until Tuesday, on Monday a few people played but it was mainly empty as usual!!!!!
There is no problem with playing BF2 for another clan or on any other server.

:crying:
We didnt run a SF server. Did in the early days but only about 2 people played it.
