I was browsing around in the Sci-Fi section on HMV and found this series called Torchwood. I haven't heard about it before. My question is: is it any good? Anyone know anything about it?
yes it is very good its basically an adult doctor who :) its got captin jack as the lead
I love Dr Who and Torchwood is part of the same 'universe' if you like. In fact the last episode of Dr Who here had the Torchwood characters and set figuring quite a lot!
Captain Harkness has this amazing ability not to die even when shot so he is older than he looks!
So yeah Torchwood is aimed more at the adult audience too.
It also deals in aliens and weird stuff like that just like Dr Who does.
I find John Barrowman's acting a bit crappy at times, which is a shame as Torchwood could be so much better.
Also wish he wouldn't camp it up as much.
My main issue with Torchwood is that it's scheduled later on TV so the writers have decided to go for more 'adult' themes. This *could* have been good. What it actually ends up with is every single major character being bisexual and snogging each other at every major opportunity. Basically, it feels to me like someone took all of the Dr Who fan slash fic they could find out there and made a TV series out of it... :sideways:
I enjoyed it.Far more than the current Dr lame err sorry who series.
Used to watch it but got bored if i'm honest.
