Anyone know of a list showing CPU temperatures?

My P4 2.4 runs at 43C under full combat conditions - it was recently at 90C before I noticed anything untoward. Seems to have recovered unscathed I might add.

Case Ambient = 45 idling
Case Ambient = 50 gaming
CPU (P4 2.53) = 49 idling (Zalman Flower Heatsink on min speed)
CPU (P4 2.53) = 58 working (Zalman Flower Heatsink on min speed)
GeForce 5900 = 50 idling (MSI TwinFlow Cooler)
GeForce 5900 = 65 gaming (MSI TwinFlow Cooler)

  Errrr, yes, but for the life of me I can't find the bookmark

I'll continue racking the minimalist brain I have to work with and try topost it later.....

What programme do you use in order that you can see this information as you 'work'?

There are many avail, I used one supplied by by MB manufacturer but SiSoft Sandra will give you info too (Sandra is free but does not give dynamic readout, just snapshots)

Thanks guys.

The reason for asking is that I wonder which processor puts out most heat as I am thinking of getting a barebone system before the LAN. These are the CPUs I (and my wallet) have been looking at.

AMD Athlon XP2500+ Barton
AMD Athlon XP2800+ Barton

Intel P4 2.66 GHz (533FSB)
Intel P4 2.40 GHz (800FSB)

My concerns are high temp = high noice level so I am also looking for a good enough graphics card that doesn't operate at toaster temperatures. I have a GeForce3 Ti500 atm.

TL do you got a similar page for P4?

Two possibilities atm.

1. Buying a complete barebone system cost ($700-800)

2a. Buying a barebone Shuttle and then transferring cpu, mem, gfx only when going to LAN. The Shuttle could be upgraded down the road.

2b. Same as 2a but going for a really cheap barebone (not shuttle).

This is what I have right now that could be transferred.
XP1900+ (Palomino)
GeForce 3 Ti500
512 MB PC2100

I use Motherboard Monitor (MBM) http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/).  Very configurable, and Alex does a top rate job at supporting it.

So are you saying that you want to get rid of it? :multi:

What model is it?

I dont actually know tbh i keep saying that i might get rid of it and the missus says im not......for what reason i dont know.

I initially bought it to DL and watch movies on the TV, since i havnt tried that yet i might give it a go first before i decide on getting rid.

Good Prog, just tried it. Bit heavy on the config but does the job nicely.

how did you monitor the temp of your graphics card (9700 pro)?

thanks!

Its a geforce 5900 and the temperature monitoring is built into the drivers (you get to it through the properties dialog)
