tricky car to get the most out of round this track.
mainly down to its lack of power, means you really have to peach the corners to keep the times down.
really looking forward to my first long race in a while :yahoo:
 good luck all :D

My mouse hand wrist has been aching so had to skip driving yesterday. Hope I manage to show up today.

Great race again. It does not matter how much practice I've had during the week, these 1h races are always (almost) great fun. Those short 10-15min races can be driven with a left hand only (can you Aquilifer?) but 1h races are the real thing. The immersion, sweating, sport drinks, tiredness, tactics, drama and tragedy all are present, and in the end the joy of being there. Actually I'd like our "short" races to be at least 15 minutes long to give them some of the feeling from these big ones.

My grid position promised good fun, and that it was. I think I got from 12th place to 7th in about 10 minutes, and then it was me, Andy and the CherryPie fighting for the 5th place. The Pie was fast, but spun, so I had Andy to race against. I don't know how long did I follow him, perhaps 20-30 minutes, but I believe we both did our very best and remained within one second all the time. A few times I got close, but only once at the main straight I got close enough to try outbraking him at the end, but then I could not judge if I had the right to take the chicane first, so I braked and let Andy go first. Perhaps I should have taken it, or how do you think Andy? I want to check that from the replay and see how it went.

Anyways, chasing Andy did not give results, so I finally at 40 minutes mark understood to go to pits, hoping to get an empty track so that I could concentrate only on driving fast. It worked well and when Andy came out of the pits at 54 minutes I was about 2 seconds ahead.

Congrats Venca :yahoo:

:D To Dee for a close second.

I worked my way up to 8th, with Oldie always within a few secs behind me, I caught and passed Vobler when he dived into the pits and headed off after Lameduck but couldn't gain any on him. At about 20 mins in I suffered a mechanical failiure of the blu tack holding the throttle pot in place.

Pressing harder and with a sideways pressure I could sometimes get full throttle, everytime I went up the straight I tried to esc/options/controls and recalibrate whilst peering through the text at the road. Eventually I managed the correct key click combination and got full throttle at half press of the pedal. I'd lost about 20 secs and had an already pitted Vobler on my tail with Oldie 5 sec behind, I needed at least 15 secs on them for my pit stop, I couldn't shake Vobler and he caught and passed me. About three laps from the end I had 16 secs on Oldie and dived into the pits where the stupid pit crew changed my rear tyres and Oldie went through, I set off to catch him s**t or bust style, but ran out of time and finished tenth.

Bad luck Aquilifer on the disco.

quali went well and ended up 3rd with a pb on my last lap :D

the race started and after a few rubs with dee thru the opening complex i found myself in 2nd, but already a couple of seconds down on venca:sad:
did my best to claw it back and even at one point got the gap down to half a sec. but this was short lived, as i seem to go of the boil after 15 laps or so.
after those few messy laps i then realised that dee was closing in fast. this seem to re-focus me and i picked up the pace to set another pb :D
but dee was flying and it soon became apparent that i was holding him up and lossing time myself. so i decided to release him, and off he went chasing down the by now, long gone venca.
i then settled into a nice rythmn and was happy just to mantain the gap back to deetz.
i pitted on about 45 mins gone. but other than that, the last half hr was just about not making any mistakes and hanging on to 3rd :D

well done to venca and dee, great racing !

Had a damn CTD at lap 2 or 3 :ranting2:

If it had any good side it must be that I didn't have to wreck my arm completely (the whole arm from wrist to elbow is bad).

I didn't bother to rejoin as I couldn't have raced anybody. Too bad as there were lots of racers and the race might have been good.

Quailified 2nd, with the exact same time as Delankster  :D

Was on the outside of a 3 car battle at the start and was shoved onto the grassy area, letting Delankster past, and also Deetz who came from 7th I think, great start by him.

Passed Deetz after a few laps, then caught Delankster by around lap 10, couldn't make an easy pass, so as he said, he let me through on the straight to go after Venka.

He was only 4 seconds in front but it took me all of the second half of the race to catch him, setting new pb's as I did  :D.  I made a dive to pass him on the last but one lap, went defensive on the next few corners but outbraked myself to let him back passed  :crying:

Well done to Venca and all the others who managed to finish.  esp. oOOo for making mechanical adjustments mid-race, nice one!
