Title: Amazing the old stuff you can find...
Post by: b00n on August 27, 2008, 09:21:59 AM
Just came across this old map I made some time ago when I used to play gungame pretty much exclusively. :)

The community I made it for no longer exists though. :sad: :g:

Communities come and go. A few of the now -=[dMw]=-'ers followed me from another Clan/Community called [CIGS]. It's been dead for quite a while now.
Seems you like mapping...

@Jewelz;
I reckon that Zombiemod would be more appropiate as it can be TCS-style.
GunGame is mano I mano.

It's definitely interesting checking through your internet history (not via Firefox/IE but by google), there are some treasures. :narnar:

@ duvel
dmw is well too much a tcs clan
and it could be a good way to get get some people into the clan
and also a gungame server is rather fun
but who would whant to play a tactical zombie server ??
well thats my point gone through
i dont mean to be a meanie or eneything but thats mey point

I'd like to point you out to dMr and our WoW area. No counterstrike at all...
GunGames only improve your skills in differend kind of weapons. It's everyone for themselves then.
The zombieserver I played on the other day is tactical as me and Acid found out on a few maps, if we didn't work together the zombie's would have won.

Back to thread before hijjack;
I defiantly need to have a look into mapping but RL takes up to much time. It looks nice form the screenies on banana

GunGame is good for improving gun skills and for improving reactions.  Possibly a valid addition at times to our counter-strike gaming.

It's called LANs. :devil:

As said, TCS can't be played on a GG-server.
Improving your skills in CounterStrike is simple, check the thread from Sadako with tips and pointers.

I'm out of this thread now, it's hijjacked...

Please keep this thread on topic. It's not about the merits of having a GG server it's about mapping and modding.

If you want to discuss having a GG server (and you are well within your rights to do so), try posting about it HERE (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=89).

Thanks

GG discussion started here (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=24582).

This map was really my first attempt at making a map, I wanted to play around with lighting as most maps seemed to me to largely ignore it.  Or even worse, the massive amount of maps that have what for me is the cardinal sin of lighting in arena-style maps - having the 'sun' angled behind one team's side of the arena.  It inevitably means that either one team is shrouded in darkness while the other is lit up like a christmas tree, or one team can't see their crosshairs against an extremely light background while the other can see theirs fine.  Don't think anything in mapping annoys me more. :ranting2: :flirty:

I liked playing around with the water too.  For a map with such big open space it can become quite sneaky and tactical with few players, or when it's down to 1v1. :)
