tricky little combo this, but very rewarding.
the art of sliding into corners with just enough oposite lock to counter the slide is great fun but very tiring.

should be fun in the hr race:norty:

Don't listen to him. He is trying to trick us into doing a mistake so he has a chance to win.

qualified 2nd and started the race behind venca:D
suprisingly managed to hang onto the back of him and we both started to pull out a lead.
we both were quicker at different points of the track so i kept finding myself right up his exhaust with no way of passing then dropping of from him.
made my pit bang on half distance and found myself on a clear track to put some quick times in, but obviously not quick enough because once venca had pitted
he was a clear 8 sec's down the road.
clawed it back to 1.4 sec's at one point but that was as close as it got:sad:

well done to all that finished, that was one blinking hard race :thumbsup2:

Started quali and struggled to get a good lap in.Got near the end off the quali and was in 9th but knew i could do better so did 1 last lap & put a pb in to jump up to 5th:)The race started and i was soon fighting will the normal suspects.Had a good race with Seany & Detez was slowley catching up with us both so i pitted just before 1/2 distance. After my stop i had about 10 mins hot lapping until Seany pitted and the race was back on.I managed to to get past Sean after he made a few mistakes and then found myself behind Detez after his pit.Started to put pressure on Detez & was looking foward to a good race but suddenly Detez was in the air in front of me after clipping the tyres:sad:
Things settled down after this & i had 4th in the bag(i thought)Clipped the wall going into the last chicane which threw me into the tyres and it got very messy:sad:Sorry to all that came round the corner & found me in the middle of the track with loads of damage.Managed to get over the line in 7th:doh:
Enjoyed this combo all week and had great fun:yahoo:

Was a good race, but I did have a few accidents :)

Qualified 6th, but had a battle with deetz at the start so lost contact with the top 5. caught up after a few laps and a good ol battle with Andy, both of us making the ocassional mistake loosing and gaining ground.  About half distance I had a comfortable lead from Andy but I misjudged "the chicane" and had to brake heavily into the right side tyre wall, dunno how I didnt roll it :) . After that Andy was right up me backside and I had some slight damage making the steering more "loose", wasnt too bad though. Andy put in a few good laps and got a nice lead from me.  Then I notice DeeSlider getting bigger in my mirror,  For the last 15 minutes or so I had to drive like a demon to keep ahead of him.
Very unfortunate for Andy he had a woopsie on the last corner of the penultimate lap.  I was lapping Oldie at the time and had Dee hanging onto my back bumper, I got distracted watching Andy's crash and rear ended Oldie and dislodged Dee with my flailing elbows trying to recover :blush2:

Was a good race but it was a hard combo to drive for an hour, I hope we having something a bit more relaxing for the Xrg next time.  Oval anyone? :lmfao:

congrats Venca and Kevin

Sorry for my spelling, how do I turn on spell check? Since moving to vista it never seems to be on any forum anymore :/

I didn't know Ron is famous for his vouchers.

I was happy there was lot of racers, which was not what I was expecting because some senior dMr members had not shown their faces during the week much :sideways:

My qual time was around 1:28.2, but gave only the 8th place. Was bit surprised by the number of people doing 27s.

In the beginning of the race I had some fun racing with Deetz and few others. After some time it settled so that everybody near me was driving maybe 1-2 secs between each other.

I had no problems with the car - tires were green the whole race, but maybe bit too soft as I lost some in the straights but caught especially in the 1st sector. I noticed some people used quite...straight line in the last left-right-left corner. Well...I tried that as I lost time trying to keep 2 wheels on track, but my suspension was too hard/low for that so it wasn't any better. Besides I felt that line was bit 'fishy' :sideways:

I pitted around 45 min and after it I was best at 5th (iirc). Then I lost the damn picture on my screen. It went totally black. I was entering the corners after the 2nd split. I had no idea were the car went and couldn't spec as I don't remember key commands (never use them). Little bit excercise under the table and nudging the monitor cable at the gfx card interface and it returned. My car was side the track, no damage, but I had dropped to the 12th place. Back to track and some furious driving to catch others. When some folks pitted etc, I was to 10th place. I was behind Spuddy. I was trying to find an overtaking place for several laps, sometimes getting behind and sometimes going wide. That was one of the best racing I had had for some time. Then Spud went bit wide in the 1st split corner and I managed to get the inside line and past.

I think there was one DNF so I was 8th in the end. I hope my car didn't cause problems to anybody when I was 'blind' and playing with my gfx card cables.

Congrats to all doing well. Great combo.

I had a carefully constructed strategy involving fuelling light and pitting 1/3 in where, hopefully, the leaders would be lapping me.

But then the race started and I soon realised I hadn't practiced taking a slug of beer safely. This bit me on the ar*e as I attempted a much needed slug after the Castle Wall turn. My attention firmly on the matter in hand I neglected to avoid the greenery and managed to spin, swear, barrel-roll, spill beer, curse and, finally, smile as I ended up on all four wheels. The smile soon disappeared as I realised I didn't have the same number of working suspensions.

So I limped to the pits a few laps early to spend 45 seconds getting the car fixed and refuelled. This gave me time to mop up the mess around the keyboard and finish off the contents of my glass. I then spent the next 40 minutes listening to Ron not moaning.:flirty:

That would explain your car being abandoned by the side of the road shortly after lapping me. Forgive me if I smirked. :)
