I bet it's like the first nulear reactor in the UK that the Queen 'Turned On', i.e. it's actually been running for a week or so already just to make sure it does work OK, and all they'll have on the big day is some dopey looking scientist pulling a big level that does nothing except make a needle move up a scale a bit, so people can go 'Yay', and throw confetti and eat cake.
