Title: Skip Barber - VIR South
Post by: Romus on September 13, 2008, 10:13:47 AM
I've been trying to get below 1:19 but it's difficult. There's something new that I have to learn about driving to get there. Then I found this Greger Huttu replay he doing 1:15:738. Can you do it better?

Nah, im two seconds slower than that.

But i do drive it like a car. I usually lift when shifting. I never left foot brake it. Its not possible in the real car. I even use the clutch sometimes when downshifting.

Well I knew almost no one can do it better. That is just an example of extreme speed on that combo. I got inspired and did a 1:18.9 now. Feels like 1:17 is within reach.

Ha! Me too. I heel and toe on downshifts, can't help it. The best I have done is a 1:20.~ I gave up on VIR South because of that horrible T2,3,4 section.
Infineon eh? That's more like it. :)

Just had a great race there. Spun when avoiding a spin in turn one, but did fine and I did a 1.51.2 lap

Very good time! I've done 1:54 something after ~10 laps. You seem to know the Skippy quite well to be able to drive such times.

No, I think its you that does not know it well enough yet. 10 laps is hardly much on a new track./car.

I did a race later yesterday and got down to 1.50.8 but i was not lifting on that lap. I was under pressure and had to push. I think that is my limit. Trying to go faster makes me make mistakes. So I'll leave it there and take any faster times as a bonus.
