I am quite likely to be moving house soonish, and may cease my current BY subscription, losing my webspace and site. Geocities and lycos/tripod just do not cut it, so I'm looking for some advice on the best (and cheap/free) way to go about getting a domain name/webspace (one without ads!). I seem to recall that .tw or .tk names are free or something so that might be a good start. I dont need anything fancy ;) just space enough for a small amount of junk.

Web space from your ISP is the best option as you're already paying for the connection and you get it whether you like it or not.
So whoever you end up getting your dial-up/ADSL connection with is probably your best bet. Although you'll no doubt end up with a pants domain name like
suicidalmonkey.homepages.some-ISP.co.uk or such like .
Really cool people have their own domains. It's a known fact that the cooler your domain name, the more women will want to have sex with you...honest. I own webfire.org.uk and get shags all the time :D
For a domain you need to go to someone fabulous....like Crosswired for instance :wink:
