He is talking about a team...I thought the team is whole 1 person :g:

This is bit funny...

QuoteWhat happens after a new client connects is that the car and livery of this new driver will only be loaded when you are standing still (0 km/h). Then a ‘Loading new car models’ screen appears. Until that moment, the new car will display as a ‘box’, similar to what has been seen in other simulators as well.

Doh, like where?

Other than that, it sounds quite good...physics wise :g:

Seriously netKar Pro has the best feel of anything I've used. (takes time to reflect) Better than LFS better than Simbin stuff and better than iRacing! If only they make it more 'accessable'
Have to use a wheel though! :norty:

I suggest you pull your NKPro server out from under your bed so you can fire it up as soon as the new version it is out. Looking forward to test it.

Sadly, it still will be 3(4) single seaters.
There is a few new tracks though.

From FAQ:

Q: I've turned on the engine several times, now it doesn't work anymore. What to do?
A: These kind of single seaters are equipped with a start engine and a small battery. If you battery too much, battery charge will exhaust. In this case, leave the track session and restart it.

You need to turn on all the buttons on the dash board with your mouse, on one of the cars (i think its the fastest one FTarget ) there is a switch located behind the wheel on the right hand side, (cant really see it with the wheel on) abit hidden.

2 buttons to switch on the left, one on the right, then hit starter.

hope this helps

I knew it was going to be bad. And so it was. Theres just one gear in the demo and to get started you have to press K then Space and then K again before you can drive. Realistic? Or did I miss something? :woot2: :D

Ok, seriously, 1.02 did not convince me, but I'll try again once the 1.03 is out.

What the feck!? One gear? How can anybody test it with only one gear? Are you sure you just didn't know how to change gear or was the pit limiter on? :lmfao:

Try this (http://www.netkar-pro.com/manual/quickstart.htm) Use your mouse to point to the relevant switch and click. Easy once you get your head round it. One gear? It's a sequential box and you must lift off the throttle to change.
Now go try again. :flirty:

I meant that I could not in 3 minutes figure it out how to change gears. Wheel paddles did not do anything even when using clutch. Clutch and paddles work ok in the controller options screen. Finally I could do it if I momentarily changed over to use keyboard as controller.

In my previous post I described the problem in a way my customers often describe their technical problems (Im a tech support engineer/system operator/tech trainer). I've gotten so tired of fiddling all the settings that I simply expect a quality product to be intuitive to use, and this one was not that. But with 1.0.3 I'll for sure have more patience. =)

I feel your pain Romus.
The last time I installed this beasty I couldn't even get the engine started. About 6 months later I found a great step by step article about how to start the car and get out of the pits....but I fell asleep on the 10th page:g:

Maybe soon it will be better for my little brain.

I just downloaded nKpro, but I'm struggling with the upshifting.. it doesn't seem to allow me to use the G25 for upshifting! If I press K then Space I can upshift (space seems to be the upshifting button on the keyboard), but it won't let me shift using the paddles. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.. I have autoclutch enabled. Any hints? :)

I also suggest using the standard dMr password to let us try it in peace

But I have to agree with what Doors said online one night. It seems dumbed down. I could get some of the old feel by fiddling with the FF Damping and friction, but it still feels too much like LFS and less like iRacing.

I set FF friction and damping to 0  and use a low caster setting.  Feels great to me.  Far more iRacing than LFS imo.

To be fair, it's never been seen before in months of testing.

But as Moose said. Due to the state of the sim even he understands I am disappointed .

Quote from: vobler;256218But as Moose said. Due to the state of the sim even he understands I am disappointed .

Well, that's not what i meant. Don't put words in my mouth.  It was an understandable comment considering the time its taken to get from 1.02 to 1.03 is what i meant.

There is very little wrong with "the state of the sim"  I spent many hours racing online last night and didn't see a single problem (apart from the nooby driving which is understandable on effectively day 1 of the sim)

Somehow the DMR server got stuck.  (why did it have to be your server:doh:) That's never been seen before, and it wouldn't surprise me if it never happens again.

An issue with lag handling on badly set up/high ping servers is being addressed.

Your going on like it a huge bugfest.  Sorry to disappoint you but it isn't. The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with very few reports of major issues. This isnt a $20,000,000 5 year project with 40 staff that costs you an arm and a leg to play, its a 2.5 year old £30 sim with sod all budget and a couple of people working on it.   LFS has been going for over 6 years and you still fly into space if you touch a barrier. iRacing has some of the weirdest lag crashes I've ever seen.

Anyhow, fixes for the issues are indeed coming. http://www.wagenvoort.net/other/104.jpg

Nah, you didn't offend me in the slightest.:D

I just felt that you were putting words in my mouth, and over exaggerating the "state of the sim" compared to other sims. (though i cant deny it has bugs, just nothing show stopping, and they ARE being worked on :) Nothing that ruins the driving experience though)

Really, it was just another case of interweb misinterpretation.

@Gnomie.  Unfortunately, whilst you can indeed watch races (F3 for external view num+ and num- to cycle through drivers)  It is one of the features that is bugged to hell, and cars look laggy and jerky, which makes for a horrible viewing experience.

( it looks bloody great in replays :)  That no help to you though :( )

Quote from: Doorman;256389It did it again tonight. Once I was on it it was great all evening. :g:I wonder if I've set the server up wrongly.

Oh incidentally, sorry I had to kick you all off at 2am this morning. I had to go to bed and the pc is in my bedroom! I sat and watched untill you'd finished your race then ...boom headshot!

I wasn't even there but you just creeped me out:woot2:
Ahh the thoughts of Doors in his gitch watching from his bed:roflmao::roflmao:

Did anyone try the FF1800 with road tyres in 1.03? Is it supposed to be that difficult to drive?

Setup anyone?

Edit: never mind. I had my diff lock set wrong. Much better now.

I've tried the demo, round Aviano GP, looks and feels quite good but it's damned hard to drive with not a lot of movement in my left foot. Bloody uncomfortable sitting too. We'll see.

I tried it online today for the first time. And I must say I'm quite impressed! After some tinkering with different settings and such (with the guidance of Ron) I got it running smoothly, even in online races with plenty of other cars. Not bad! (considering my stoneage PC)

And the car felt great as well. Although to be honest I'm not sure I think it feels better now than it did in 1.02.. In 1.02 the steering wheel would "go limp" when the tires were scrubbing (when you were turning too hard in a high-speed corner). Moreover, the car would sometimes start wobbling just as you were about to loose traction. I dunno, it could be just a setup difference, but I couldn't replicate any of those two things. (even on Crema) Anyway, it's not a big deal, and the cars still feel great in 1.03.

I'll stay in Demo mode for another week or two before I decide on whether to purchase the full version. But my first impression is very good.

The lower the Caster setting is , the more you get that going lighter on the steering feeling, though not to the extent of 1.02 which was totally overdone tbh.

I tried again to sort the graphics out and still it looks like its from the 1990s, really jagged looking even at 1900x1200, i have  Q6850 with sli 8800gt 512s, i have forced the graphics in nvidia for AA but still no luck, also is there any g25 recommended settings as it feels like i am driving a hovercraft? :g:

Are you on RG tyres? i.e do they have a tread on them? If they have I refer you to http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=258175#post258175 Read the whole thread. The only thing you'll need then is a setup.
