Title: British Gas
Post by: DarkAngel on October 07, 2008, 04:39:22 PM
Ok ive just moved property and im trying to contact british gas to cancel my contract and to give them a final meter reading.

Ive been trying to do this for 8 days now, rigning them everyday 2-3 times. Its either "our systems are down" or we are currently updating our system. Everytime i get to speak to someone i ask to be phoned back, which they have never done. Almost had enough with this company and will just cancel my direct debit tomorrow if i cant get through, im hoping when they recieve no payment they will be a bit more "helpful".

ass*****

/rant over.

QuoteFrom 1 October 2008, energywatch is being closed down and will no longer be handling consumer complaints or enquiries.

If you have a complaint or enquiry relating to your energy supply company or network operator or require information or advice on general energy issues, please contact them directly or call Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06.

Looks like the OfGas team are no longer taking compliants, but they do give an alternate number.

Eight days of the same poor excuse must warrant a warning or fine of some sort to your supplier, it's like a milkman/paperboy continuing to deliver every day after you tell him to stop because his pen doesn't work.

How about mailing the daily press and let them know? Perhaps a story in the news will wake them up

In that case, having had many bad experiences with British Gas, there would be no space left for any other news stories.
