It has been a very long time since I last logged into these forums. But I decided to come by for a visit, knowing that allot of the old people that I knew from here still play this outdated prehistoric game :D(also I couldn't sleep and had nothing better to do).
For those that visit this forum and don't know who I am, I am Drazila or Tenilia and was one of the founders of the Silver Oak Guardians. I was the first raid leader of the guild and can remember the good old days like when Teaelle wasn't in the guild yet joining as a semi pickup and is the only man standing at the end of our first Gehennas kill. Stopped raiding around the end of Molten Core. Was a member well into the Burning Crusade(might have been kicked for inactivity for a few months somewhere there between).
Now the main reason I came around was to see if any of the people I know here were playing Warhammer Online and what else people are upto. And thought I might as well give an update on what I and some other previous members are upto.
I am currently playing Warhammer online relatively hardcore. I am in the guild Elysium (http://www.elysium-war.com/) with character name JanuZ (http://www.wardb.com/profile.aspx?id=96304). You can also find Vargen there with the character Varg and for those that know to Sora you can find Nergal and Kyou(Character name Mikkan) in the guild. Umbra has rolled on the same server and is applying to the guild.
Ragnarh is currently playing Eve online in a corporation named Paxton Industries(last time I checked me and varg were both members there but I haven't logged on for a while).
Kreuz has started playing WoW again but rolled on a new server as Horde. Not sure what server but he is lvl68 I think.
Btw you all better start playing Warhammer and protect Silver Oak (http://www.wardb.com/npc.aspx?id=7324) :D

Hi Ten, long time no see and glad to see you are keeping well and still around!
Ragnarh I see perusing the forums here regularly, Vargen I think we lost to EVE, nice to know he has found Warhammer though and an Umbra along the way!
Many of the old raiders from vanilla Wow are still out there, often having re-rolled to new toons, and many friends from Danu Nephilimer are still about too. I still see Kreuk knocking about and many of the SOG raiders, attendance is a bit patchy atm being just 3 weeks prior to the expansion, but there are lots still there.
Personally I am currently trying to 'finish' the game and kill Kil'jaeden at the moment - repeated sub 20% wipes last night including a 2% wipe and a absolutely perfect try that at 40% and with everybody still alive was hit by massive & repeated 10-15 second lag spikes which continued until a wipe some 3 minutes later. God bless blizzard for quality patch coding and hardware. :frusty:
SOG itself is looked after and protected by a L1 mage called (believe it or not) "Silveroak" but it is there as a social shell now and not the largest guild on the Aszune realm that it once was. TBC really wrecked large guilds and none of the big raid guilds survived intact, all had to make substantial changes or simply collapsed. SOG never really recovered from the TBC changes.

I remember this moment all too well, the whole of TS screaming for a first kill, my first night in Molten Core, 38 dead people strewn on the floor and nothing but me and a DI'd paladin stood in the corner unable to help me against the big L63 Gehennas who was now closing in on my squishy behind. If I recall it was a frostbolt as he closed to melee range on me that killed him, it was mighty close. Wierd to recall the pace of progression as a year later we cleared the whole of Molten Core in a little over 60 minutes in a speed run and SOG still holds the realm records for quickest clears of MC and BWL.
Funniest memory from Molten Core: every healer in the raid having a "Rezzing Kreuz" macro. :roflmao:
And he still holds the record for the most deaths in a single raid!
Not sure how many play Warhammer Online, I know some who have bought it but pretty much all have returned to Wow afaiaa - it would be nice to get a list of Warhammer Online players up here though to see who is about and which server to roll on if anyone buys the game and starts a character.
Give my regards to all on Warhammer, tell them to pop in and say "Hi!".
TL.
Nice to read this post... Hi Drazila I joined SoG when you alr left the game... but I do love to read the flash back you guys have. I can understand the thrill it must have been TL... Things I recall are SoG RG2 (I was in) and the speedruns (I was not in)....also the everlasted and hated by TL , the 3-word story....
But I will aim at Wotlk and after that I'll see what happens. Maybe I should dive into WAR as those people you named I recall them... being good players.
For now welcome back to the forum and nice to read about old wow players.
Cya..
Daedalus.
Hi Teni, been a while :).
I do have a lot of fond memories of our little group going through all the instances in vanilla WoW. We had a lot of fun and I consider this as the best period I had in WoW.
I've been playing as horde on Darkspear server with some real life friends in TBC. Was raid leader and officer for a guild that eventually ended up disbanding after Kalecgos.
I have now re-started on Aszune with my warrior Melech. Just reached 70 and are looking for a guild that is going to be raiding in WOTLK. Hope you come back and check out WOTLK when it arrives.
Nice update Teni - good to hear from you :) Reading posts like this also always brings up lots of good memories. For myself I think I have to mention SOG's first kill of Ragnaros as my #1 memory, but also the first kill of Nefarian, as well as the MC speed run were legendary :woot2:
I have, all since before the summer, played with the thought of finding back to WoW - it's something I think I really want. I also thought that when I finished my studies and started working I would get lots of extra spare time for things like this - which in a way is correct, but this Fall I got appointed leader for the underwater rugby group I'm in, which has taken too much of my time... But only time can tell, I haven't abandoned the idea of returning and trying out WotLK :flirty:

Say what now?! There's days that reality really does seem stranger than fiction. I'm definately googling this !

Hmm some good old names here :)
yeah bob the kill of Ragnaros and Nefarian was great :) To bad the guild sufferd after that, SoG was a great guild. I wish it was still arround and i would start playing wow again :)
Hehe TL i do belive a mage from Sora managed to beat Kreuz most deaths in 1 raid night ehhe. But the macro's was so funny :)
Ahh i remember my first time raiding with SoG wich is 3 years ago today i belive. It was a great feeling, and i even got my first T1 item that night, on my first time in MC. The old 40 man raiding was a blast, 25 man raiding was and is a strain and a constant 100% focus. I loved almost every minute of the raiding in Sora, but it can't beat the feeling when raiding in SoG. :crying:
So if u guys plan on getting a similar guild up in litch king, i might be in :)
Oh and who do i ask for a guild invite? I was kicked from sora as it was semi disbanded

I will see what happens. Have not decided if i should buy wotlk yet, since i don't realy have that much time to play it. Got to much with work and real life atm to deal with. Starting my own company this winter as well. So that will take some time, as i will be working on that in my spare time.

all work and no play ?
makes Jim a dull boy
Quote from: JonnyAppleSeed;250124all work and no play ?
yeah i know what will happen if i start playing to much again. I won't be able to stop for a long time :P
So better to just stay away i think. Well i would have hoped to be able to play a few hours a week. But it's either full focus or nothing.
