As you're aware we, the community, have purchased a new server to replace our aging second box and the swap will happen as soon as it can be arranged. Thanks to your continued support we were able to purchase a powerful beast that, when placed alongside our main server, will enable us to support all of our gaming servers should one or other fail.
In fact, we have plenty of horsepower to spare so that got us thinking and here's what we have decided to do.
If a new game includes an obvious 'teamwork' element then we will consider running a dMw server for that game as soon as it's released. The server will be public from day one and will only be adopted as an officially supported dMw server should the community show the support and the desire for it to be so.
dMw Members who play on any non-adopted dMw public server must play in accordance with our community's ethos and encourage others to do so.
This new process is only a trial but it is hoped that, with the use of carefully worded in-game messages and dMw members demonstrating teamwork, it will persuade our guests to learn more about how we do things here at Dead Men Walking.
We have already earmarked two games that we think will make excellent candidates for this new way of doing things:
Left4Dead and Call of Duty: World at War (http://astore.amazon.co.uk/deadmenwalkin-21/detail/B001BEOFLY)
Both can be preordered as of now and, please, if you are considering purchasing a new game remember to use our affiliates where available.
This sounds great!
Might there be room for a non-adopted CS:S Insurgency server?
Good news indeed!

Yeah, I like the idea, new PC soon so will be able to join the fun.
Keep up the hard behind the scenes work - we certainly appreciate it!
If I can help, then msg me - I could twiddle buttons or something :norty:
Definitely thinking of getting Left 4 Dead, it will really promote teamwork I imagine. Will servers only be able to handle 8 people btw? (4 Survivors and 4 player controlled Zombies).

Good question and one I'd like to know the answer to too.:g:

Looks like an 8 player limit:
Quote- There are four campaigns, consisting of 5 maps each, which can be both played offline (with AI controlled friends and enemies) or online with up to 8 players (four Survivors and four Boss Infected).
Although the following may make up for it :)
Quote- At the moment it seems each campaign can take up to an hour to finish (you can leave the game anytime you want, you'll just be replaced by a bot until someone else joins), meaning each particular map takes about 10 minutes to complete.
- At the end of each campaign, there will be an elaborate “last stand” in which you and your mates must hold off wave upon wave of Infected waiting for the rescue vehicle to come and uh...rescue you. The infected will temporarily stop attacking you so you can set up your defence, then you radio the rescue vehicle, a timer pops up, and all goes to hell. This is especially hard and you will be facing many more opponents than you did on foot to the point.
Oh no! not another COD game only just got 4!
I support insurgency to be added :)
nice Idea Oldie
Left4dead is a must have :D
