I specifically use at least two 'alt' chars. Makes passwords almost uncrackable. Oh and they are at least 12 characters in length.
I use fairly slim passwords..... I'd rather the practicality of use over a one-off breakin.....
Why bother. Go here (http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ (http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/)), download CD image, burn to CD, boot from CD, select password to change, set password of selected account to whatever you want, save, reboot, have your wicked way with machine :-)
