As part of our overhaul we are looking at creating tag/icons for the various games and areas within dMw.

We have some sorted but we're looking for inspiration for others -the icons need to be 32x32 pixels.

Over to you creatives :thumbsup2:


Here's what I think we require:

Dead Men Raiding (DMR) -  icons for:

guild member
officer
section head/GM

(these icons should be the same design but coloured differently - i.e. white, silver and gold).

Non-gaming Administration :

Section Head Servers
Section Head LAN
Section Head Forum

Forum Moderator
Forum Quality Contributor

Non-gaming Awards:

LAN attendee
Community Supporter (i.e. subscriber)

Golden Member (gaming + LAN/Supporter + Forum Contributor)  -TOP AWARD!

Just as a thought Pen, I like the above designs that you originally posted as they are simple and represent each game clearly.

However could we have them made with more distinct colours as i'm colour blind and can't tell a couple of the css and racing ones apart.


Maybe some primary colours for example.


I gather the given person will still have a written title as well as a badge just for added "newcomers" clarification though.

The majority of the designs posted have been borrowed from the intertubes. If you want different then you gotta put digital pen to digital paper - or hunt out some more 32 x 32 offerings.

The community supporter could be kind of those parachute boxes that comes flying in WORMS but can't find any.

It's dMr not LFS. :flirty: That is to say, Dead Men Racing as opposed to Dead Men Playing Live for Speed. While LFS is flavour of the month atm, it could change, it not likely but it's possible, to....who knows what. Just thought I'd make that clear. Does that sound precious? As a point (which Jabbs already appears to be doing :thumbup: but that might have been accidental :narnar:) I think it'd be a good idea to keep the colours consistent across all games, so green for player, silver for admin, gold for senior admin (or whatever, but that's what we seem to be getting at the mo). It makes it easier to spot who is what, without having to remember that pale yellow is admin on CS:S, and greyish is player, but for CoD4 greyish is admin, or whatever.

Unforuntately dead donkeys have been known to have more artistic ability than me, so that's about the extent of my contribution ;)

I was going to try and split between the Spring and Autumn Lans so people had the chance to get the set but it may prove logistically difficult so to do.

It would be no real hardship for us to update the badges and that would in turn auto update anything already awarded. A mentioned elsewhere we're really just testing the system out and so we can still amend stuff.

I for one would vote for these new themed tags. The only issue would be that we would need a full set of tags. These examples are great but can I assume you would be able and willing to make a complete set if required?

Good point regarding the difference in colours and shapes.

However, i can't make out the difference between the green and yellow as i unfortunately cannot tell the difference. Please can you make the green darker or use a different colour. Blue would be good if you wouldn't mind  :blush:

Well the green, red and gold for the gaming ones are fine. I'm sorry Ghosty but you'll have to live with it. You can always roll your mouse over them to find out whether they're Gold or green. I know it's not the PC answer but I want them finished and ready to roll out. Besides the Gold (yellow) ones are only for the Section Head of each section and you know who they are already (Whitey, Armitage, Doorman, Sheepy, Me, Gandy and Blueball   and smilodon. They'll also have their title under their name.

Zoots, thanks. The COD triallist and CS triallist can be anything so long as they're the same - if we can use the existing competition badge in your new format that would be superb.

The section admin ones need to be gold - The others are more open. I quite like the grey ones and perhaps we use those for the Community badges such as Community Supporter, Golden Badge, Community Leader, Section Head- Server and Section head - Network. These will need to be signed off by those heads though.

LOL - The server head was abit tongue in cheek to be honest I was struggling for a decal that represents a server you see.

I could try to incorporate the original gamer in the new style but it would significantly stand out against the other badges in my opinion.

Do you reckon it would be a better idea to have the badges directly under the username if that's possible, just to help a bit of seperation from the avatars? I'm not sure personally but I think there does need to be some seperation.
