Missing a thread for this one!
I wanted to thank you all for the good races I had yesterday night with this combo.
I appreciate the close racing we get there, and with the general respectful atmosphere of dMr servers I really enjoyed this track for one of the first times.
I had never noticed that it could offer so many interesting fighting / passing / blocking opportunities and this car is well suited for that (a little bit of skidding does not end your race here, even in the green stuff...)
Special thanks to the Cat and Doorman for the fights :D
Travelling for work means I will not attend the 1 hour race, but I guess I had my share of fun yesterday.
I've managed to win 13 out of the last 14 races I've done this week:D
Starting to think:g:
Pretty good combo :roflmao:
Very nice combo indeed. :) Before this week I'd never driven the RB4, but I'm starting to like it now.
Where were you all when I needed you? :)
Good combo indeed. I agree with Mille, this combo is particularly good for giving lots of opportunities (practice) for overtaking. I just need a few more laps :) with the shifter and I'll be at my normal level.
What!
Are you telling me that you are NOT doing rallycross?
I decided to do as Doors like to say; "If it irritates you then don't do it" so I stayed away this week. Bummer.

Funny you should say that. Last night I was stuck behind someone - I think it was either you or Doorz - and I was thinking to myself "Damn it, there's hardly any overtaking opportunities on this track!". Lol :D I guess I'm just not aggressive enough eh :)

For which I'm thankful :) The RB4 handles pretty well in the grass, so you can afford to mow the lawn now and then when executing an evasive maneouvre or something.

That's what you get for not checking the forums :norty:
Week's not over yet, mate. The best is yet to come, me thinks :)
Thanks for the kind words Mille, glad your enjoying it. It is indeed a very fun combo. Lots of close racing :racing: and I love that twisty back section :)
gl to all tonight :thumbsup2:
That was loads of fun - hampered by the wife coming home 15 minutes in and not having her key, so I had to park up while I let her in, but I took 3 seconds off my PB during the race and was happy to finish - again, hope I didn't get in anyone's way, but I was trying to be most responsive to the blue flag.
Looking forward to the next combo... :)
So yesterday I got my first dMr win! :yahoo: It was a great race indeed. I set a new PB during quali, which gave me pole position. Personally I don't think overtaking is easy on this track, so for me this was a big advantage.
For once I'd actually spent quite a lot of time tweaking my setup before the race. I think this helped me build confidence with the car. It's a great way to get to know the limits of the car! I think I'll start doing this more regularly from now on, pulling the sliders randomly and seeing what they actually do. :)
Once again, thanks all for a great race and excellent behaviour during overtaking (as usual).

Oh, is it that simple? I thought it would require some understanding, and as I don't have any, I've relied on setups from others. :) Hehee, now I'll start doing some wizardry myself.
Congrats for the win. Your set was good for the tires btw.
My race was a virgin race for the new shifter. I did a few mistakes with it, like used the clutch pedal instead of the brake pedal (sorry CrazyR1) or bad clutching when upshifting and slowed down the car too much after the corner (sorry Seany) and various other small mishaps. But, all in all, a very enjoyable race that taught me a lot.
Well of course it helps to start out with a decent set. But playing around with stuff such as roll bars, front/rear power ratio, braking bias, cambers and pressures is pretty useful and intuitive. The suspension and all that is much more complicated, though.
I had very good racing with Dee at the last 15 mins. When I came back from the pits he just managed to get past me. We were fighting only for the 5th place, but it was quite intense. Sometimes managed to close and sometimes he pulled away again.
It was maybe only 5 laps before the end when Dee drove bit wide the first corner (missed braking a bit?). I managed to get inside, but because my nose was only in line with his back door and the chicane was coming fast I backed off. I was right behind and because of his car I couldn't see the chicane and I had to turn on hunch. Off course it went wrong and I hit the tyre stacks head on. It bled most of my speed and lost the rythm. After that I had no real chance catch Dee anymore. Tryed anyway if he had made a mistake, but no...burned only my ryres.
It was fun race anyway. Congrats to all who managed to do 38 laps without wrecking car in the downhil section :)
