Steam Game Stats

Found here (http://store.steampowered.com/stats/) are interesting.

Looking at the top games

       Counter-Strike: Source
        Left 4 Dead
        Counter-Strike

It's interesting that CSS is still up there (today), I thought it had dropped in popularity?

L4D new game expected to do well I guess?

CS 1.6!!!!! What the hell?  Who is playing this game still? lol

odd stats.

I think it just shows steam is still a cs app rather than being picked up by the wider gamming community.

until we save money buying games with steam rather getting a copy from play/amazon it will stay that way.:2cents:

Yup.

A game on steam costs more than it does through Amazon (including delivery and the fact you get something physical). Once you finish a game on steam thats it, you cant do anything else. At least with a DVD you can either sell it or give it away but at least you can do something with it.

Loads of people still play CS1.6 and haven't even converted to CS:CZ yet.
There used to be still  an ED-league for 1.6 but it's not on anymore when I check the site.
I played a game again off CS1.6 months ago as I joined an old friend in a game but it seems full of hackers as it's not supported anymore with anticheat I believe.

For the rest, I agree with Mike. Cheaper and you'll still have the CD's/DVD's.
When I bought a Steampack I made sure I printed a screen of me buying the games just incase they mess up (which they seem to do very often).
