Something actually worth reading (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=50919) on LFS' forum.
One of very few interesting posts on LFS. I can see everything she refers to coming true....trouble is, I'll only be allowed to drive a wheelchair by the time it's available.
Perhaps some of those will be in some sim in year 2020.
Nice post. It's an interesting discussion for sure. I have a feeling that iRacing will get there sooner than any other sims. They've got the tire- and car physics nailed down already, the tracks are excellent, so dynamic surfaces should be a natural next step really. :)
Interesting read. There are a lot of things mentioned I've never really thought about. Wonder how many of them are on Scawen's to do list for S3? Without really knowing that much about programming, I would think it be a lot for even a multi core CPU to deal with, but then most games still only use one core anyway, at the moment.
I've always held a different view, that this is "virtual racing" in it's own right, otherwise you're pretending to be real racing drivers in real cars aren't you.
Things like waiting for a tow truck and being rescued from an accident are a bit too far, just press shift+p and go back out again. So what if there is a perfect lap with a perfect setup, it still takes knowledge to find and the skill to "drive" it.
I have an all women pit crew, she washes my screen when I pit :D
