should be a interesting race this .
Not really raced this combo much but what i did find was a tendancy to over heat the front right tyre :g:
A good setup will be a must !
Anyhow gl to all :thumbsup2:
Not really my type of car, but i love this track so... here we go.. :)
Will try not to be so cleaver like last week, with the pitstop-strategy..
I tought it would been smart, to set the tyres to change if worn is more then 50%. Then if i pitted right after 30 minutes, and my tyres didn't changed, i should been sure they would last whole race.
Otherwise i'll get new tyres and that would be fine.
Just that, my tyres get overheated at the beginning, and i had to slow down a little. When 30 minutes had past and the car was getting lighter, my tyres start to grip again. So i forgot all by my strategy, and just raced on... And when i pitted on second last lap, my tyres was in good shape. 2 laps to go, and the pitcrew started to change my left front tyre, then right front tyre, right rear tyre... arrghh  , totally forget they still was set to change if more then 50%....
Well.. i wont do that mistake tonite... (will be some new mistake instead...)
Cya at the tracks, and good luck all!
Right! now I know your plan, I shall put into action my master plan which will see you eating vast quantities of my dust. :norty::norty::norty:
I like the track well enough but I'm not a big fan of the UFR. I've only done a handful of races on this combo. I'm just gonna enter the race for the mere fun of it, and start at the back. I'm sure there'll be some people I can have some battles with, or just tag along with.
EDIT: lol, just noticed that every sentence in that post starts with "I"
Tense moments before the race with random disconnects but it turned out ok with only a couple. Rotten I know, if you were one of them but I envisioned a repeat of Tuesday!
The race itself? Excellent as far as I was concerned. A couple of good dices and I kept it on the island. I was just a bit gutted to be lapped when I thought this might be my first race without being lapped. Thanks Manny! :sideways:
Best result I've had for a long, long time, but more importantly some of the best racing for yonks :D
Had an early set-to with Crazy & Cueball but (even better than that) we were keeping the leaders in sight. I overtook both of them eventually (not the leaders, dont be silly) and opened a small gap I WAS 4th!!!!! but it wasnt long before Andy was back on my tail having dropped Cueball.
He then pitted just coming up to 30 minutes and I pitted on the next lap, and the boys decided I needed new fronts (set @50%) so that cost me quite a few seconds. When I came out of the pits I was 12 seconds behind Andy and despite battering the car I could not make sufficient headway in closing the gap.
But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
No it isnt, its Aquilifer and he's got an 8 second lead and 10 minutes to go. Yipee :yahoo: A Target.Managed to reduce his advantage, but he managed to beat me to the line with under 2secs to spare.Andy crossed the line 10 seconds ahead of me.
Booger the tyre change. Sacking the bleedin lot tomorrow and the the manager, he's ruddy useless 'n all.............:ranting2:
Hey there!
Thanks (again) for the dMr racing standards, atmosphere and combo choices (not to mention chicanes, none in sight last night), I realise this is now where I spend more than 1/2 my racing time.
I had 0 practice for this combo and by luck only managed to get the evening free for the big race. Came out of the pits on the last preparation race with a UF-BR set as well :)
Thanks Gnomie for the set, very stable and far away from the foolish thing I had lurking in my folder, ready to turn the midget car into a show drift beast whatever the input.
So, ugly start (500m wheel spin at least, followed by a hiccup) put me from 11th in qualy to even further back.
Then I had to slow down a lot for a car on its side in T1 (unlucky chap) - came out last (last one standing, I mean).
I tried to get a pace and got in an intense fight with Deetz. Good stuff, got the inside in the nasty right hander before the back straight - I had him. Unfortunately he probably ventured a tyre or two in the green stuff, insta spinning. His car hit my front left and that sent him in the wildest spin I have ever seen, congrats :)
I had some damage affecting car handling but decided to take it like a man and went on. Considering I had no track time in this combo, it was not a big issue and I adapted my driving to the situation.
After a while I learnt to deal with the damage induced tendency to turn right under braking and very light - floating steering wheel under throttle, and was doing 1:50.5 to 1:51.5 laps.
Caught Doorman for the second time of the race and he fought like a devil (again).
I tricked him at the exit of the oval with a feint and plunged inside, and nearly lost it in the following few turns due to his car occupying all the mirrors :)
Then I had a boring race, but managed to retain concentration despite my wife attempts to have a serious conversation around the 20 minutes mark.
Consistency gave me a few positions back, and I was back around 10th place at the 30 minutes. Tyres were looking good, enough fuel to go to the end.
Then gaaaaah. Disconnected.
Thanks for the fun, see you on track!
Well, I was a random disconnect and therefore started 4 mins late - after 2 laps of pulling over for everyone with a blue flag I conceded. Maybe next time.
That was a very fun race! I qualified 2/100 second in front of Deetz, which put me in "the sweet spot" on the inside line of the starting grid. I almost managed to pass Manny pretty early, but he stayed in front and we had a great battle for several laps, going side by side lots of the time. Then Sean managed to take advantage of our battling and overtook me. Manny slowly disappeared into the distance, while Sean and I had a very nice fight. Finally I managed to pass and build a small lead (1-2 seconds). I decided to push a little extra to make the gap as big as possible before I had to pit, so that I could hopefully maintain the lead after pitting. Well, that failed. I nearly lost it in a fast corner, and I think I must have downshifted in panic, over-revving my engine. Sean passed me in pits (I had to refuel), and after that I just couldn't keep my pace up. I could only do 213-214 km/h at the finish line (compared to the normal 222).
It was kinda funny though, because my engine didn't make that "popcorn-sound" normally associated with over-revving.. I dunno, could be that the engine sound file I was using "camouflaged" it or something..
Anyways, I stayed within seconds off Sean for the duration of the race. Andy was catching fast towards the end, but we kept him off.
Good race guys! :)
well done to the podium takers :thumbsup2:
and commiserations to the disco's
Managed to last the whole hour, for the second time. My setup proved woefully inadequate, giving me 1:52s at best, but a couple of laps at that pace severely overheated the fronts, so then I had to back off for a couple of laps to let them cool down. Then my anti-virus updated on a fast left, dropping the frame rate down to 2fps, and throwing me into the wall :crying: A 30 second pit stop followed for repairs (and a glass of red, so it wasn't all bad) for a well earned last place. A big thanks to all at dMr for being patient with me, a friendly place to race I can't think of.
any chance of the replay ? :)

You read my mind.
was a cracking race, lots of pressure with Gnomie in my mirrors for 3/4s of the race :).
I got a good start off the line and got up to 4th or 5th from I think 7th after qualy. Then Deetz had his off :/ and I gained another couple of spots after T1. I could see Gnomie and Manny having a rare old ding dong up ahead and I had some good speed, doing a 1.49.xx after a couple of laps. I managed to catch them and get ahead of Gnomie, but after that I had alot of trouble getting below 1.50 for the rest of the race. Gnomie caught back up and retook 2nd.
After the pitstops I regained 2nd place, but I could tell some thing was wrong with Gnomie, even when I made some pretty bad mistakes he was unable to capitalise on them. I was so sure he was going to catch me it was freeking me out :D . But as I now know he did indeed have engine damage. Unlucky mate, you would of had me several times over without that problem.
Still, was an enjoyable battle.
Good race all :flirty:

I have it, but how the heck do I attach files in this forum? :/
Congrats manny :yahoo:
I qualified 7th I think, my best this year :D chased Bob, Andy and cueball for the first 20 mins with Aquilifer on my tail until I went wide and he nipped inside. I drove round and around reaching 2nd at one point, pitted and joined just behind Bob, nursing my cold thin tyres I finished 7th.
Bad luck to the discos :(

not sure:g:
but not to worry ron's already posted it in the download section :thumbsup2:
cheers anyway m8:D

That was almost the only chance I got. I drove behind you a good time, but you were so much faster in the oval section I couldn't get past even if I managed to slipstream. Must have been my gearing :g: Anyway that was great racing :D
I had R4 front and R2 rear. A minor tweak from my AS7 set, but obviously the gearing was still bit too short. Not any sort of problems with tyres. Lasted all race and were green.
