wow ! had forgot what fun these can be :)
Should be interesting with no reverse and barriers all about !
might be worth considering having reset turned on for the hr race ....
Discuss ! :)

Should be a fun one! :D (as always) I'm just happy it isn't on Fern Bay.. I did an MRT race there recently with about 10 drivers, and just one other guy and I crossed the finish line.

I guess that in a 'real life' situation there would be marshals to point you in the right direction. The trouble is the marshals wouldn't repair your damage before sending you on your way, and therein lies my main objection :g:

would be nice if you could get free from the walls without repairing
But with the little time penalty thingy that we used before it
would help keep people racing and not turning off in droves when
(maybe not due to there own fault) they end up facing a wall with no reverse gear to save them :g:

So far, fingers crossed, I've only found one place that hitting the barriers is likely and that is the uphill out of the bus stop chicane. You can, however, let your car roll back enough to get going again. We'll keep our eye on the situation.

Here is the result of hours of agonising over the MRT reset question.

For the hour race I'm going to enable resetting with one proviso: That you'll be honour bound to retire after using TWO resets!(2 resets, on the next one you retire) I don't see a problem with that for dMr members but outlanders will need a bit of a lecturing session. :norty:

That seems very reasonable, I should get round the first lap at least :)

Sounds like a wise decision if you ask me. :)

I haven't had much time to practice this combo.. been very busy with uni stuff. :( I hope to be there on Thursday though.

No. That wouldn't be feasible without someone speccing all the drivers.

I thought that last time we had a 30 second stop and go given in game each reset?

Not possible. There's a 30 sec penalty, 45 sec, stop and go and drive through but no way to implement any of them for a reset........That I know of. :)

This must be what I was remembering - we used it during the week but I can't remember if it was on or off during the long race.

(At least now I know I wasn't imagining it!)

Thanks to brother Harry, I've dug out the resetting penalty doohickey and have implemented it. So now you can reset your car but you'll pay the sum of 20 seconds Stop 'n' Go :norty:  Don't complain, it used to be 30 seconds!

Just been on the server for a bit of practice (I really need it...), and I noticed you can reset but incur a 20 second stop/go penalty. This seems to work very well (tested several times  ), a far better solution than the previous proposal. Also means I might get through the complete hour, albeit several laps down :D
Looking forward to it, I think.

Sorry I left, but after being involved in an accident at T1, I was being lapped by lap 10! I didn't relish the idea of having to spend the next 50 odd laps being constantly blue flagged and having to slow down all the time.

Sorry to hear that Ron. :( I noticed you left and wondered what the reason was. Better luck next time!

I had a good race yesterday. :) The wind seemed to be very favourable, 'cause I was going faster than normal down the straight. So there were some very fast laptimes all across the board. Delankster seemed to be doing very well indeed despite his injury, and he was going consistently a little faster than I was. He did make a few mistakes though (that bloody chicane!!) so eventually I was able to overtake. There was absolutely nothing I could do about Troy and Dee though, so I happily settled for third. :)

Sadly this was my last long race of the season, I'm afraid. I'm going to have my last two exams next Thursday and Friday, so I'll be busy next week. And then I'm going home for Christmas. I'll try to be there some nights during the week, though!

Thought this race was always going to be a lottery & at T1 i was proved right after being hit from behind and rejoined way down the field:sad:Managed to settle myself down & had some good battles.Worked my way up to 5th:yahoo:then went in for my pit. After rejoining i slipped back into a nice grove & started counting down the laps(O dear)
Entered the chicane and found a spinner in front of me so had to take avoiding action & hit the wall which bust my front left so had a 30 sec repair to sit through & rejoined in 14th:sideways:
After a couple more good battles & a few accidents fom fellow racers managed to bring it home in 7th:)
Great race,great combo,great car.

due to the wind i switched sets in quali, chasing a few tenths but only managed 6th but it proved a winner in the race as i set a few new pb's :)
Seem to have the pace to keep up with the front and was coping well with one armed racing but found it hard to give it full opposite lock when getting out of shape, especially thro the chicane :(
Had a good battle with gnomie early on and managed to get past him only to make another mistake to let him by again.  story of my night
Stayed out longer than every one else so managed to get up to 1st at one point and was putting in some good times so when i did finally pit i only dropped to 3rd, managing to leapfrog
Gnomie and found myself only a second or so behind dee, game on .... Er NO !
Another mistake and lost my place to gnomie again and was now under pressure from mauni, put up a fight for a lap or two but he soon made it stick and that was that.
My race finished early due to me being over zealous trying to lap bryn and caught him into t1, sry bud my fault should have said i was coming thru :)
Had real good fun and remembered what i have been missing :)
Well done troy for the win and dee and gnomie for some great racing

The car much better to drive with more fuel. When the fuel amount went down 20% it began to get nervous. Of course it was so in the qual, but in the race I had used to the better handling for 50 laps, so getting used to it was heck of hard.

Have to post a complain:
The extra stop and go. I got extra time after having to reset. I got god knows how much and when I pitted it said do not move etc etc. Well I obeyed the rules...about the 30 sec mark I began to wonder how long do I have to wait. Finally decided to leave the pit after 45 secs. I was expecting it to tell when the penalty is done :taz:

DNF for me too  .Had a bit of a bump at T1, think I ended up second last. But over the next 30 laps I got back up into seventh place. After my pit stop I was just settling down for the final stint when I lost it in the bus stop. I needed to do a Reset to get away from the wall but my front wheel was in the racing line and it was too dangerous so I had to give up and spectate. Nearly took out Kev sorry mate :).

This was always going to be a hard one to finish but I had some great racing throughout the week, the first half of this race was most enjoyable too, excellent car for some close racing.

Well done Troy, Dee and Gnomie...and any one else who survived! :)
