Title: Hunter talent build.
Post by: Soon Jung on December 19, 2008, 11:16:57 AM
So I am weak. I admit it. (really, I am.)
I am reactivating my account as we speak. And I have only ONE question for you guys:

What does a newbie hunter with talents reset, who is lvl 70 and want to lvl and quest and play some solo/group, to do highest DPS and crit and damage (I like to inflict PAAAAIN to the unsuspecting people...)

What talent tree and build shall I go for?

Beastmaster (http://deadmen.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=25554)

At least at this moment its overpowered, so enjoy it as long as it can before its nerfed :)

Agreed, BM is still the only way to fly if you want to top the DPS trees and solo quest with ease.

Hmm how funny i quit and you take it up again :roflmao:.....

Level as beastmastery for sure then at 80 respec to either Survival (my personal choice) or Marksman.

You will require a lot of agility for Survival to be effective and is a awsome buff class to any raid/party. There is also going to be a nerf soon which is apparantly going to make beastmastery crap on dps compared to the other trees.

Level 70 Beastmastery Spec (leveling) (http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=052030015250120531005313510000000000000000000000000000005300000000000000000000000&glyph=000000000000)
loads of exotic pets in expansion so nice to have more options :)

Marksman Spec level 80 (http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=502000000000000000000000005000002000000000000000000000025335001200013253135031351&glyph=000000000000)
Survival Spec level 80 (http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?hunter=000000000000000000000000005300002510130330503130301351005335031000000000000000000&glyph=000000000000)
Although take focus aim instead of improved arcane shot if you cant get the hit cap :)

I'm rubbish at being a hunter, but here's a vid of the opposite!

I think your info might be a bit out of date now DA!

BM is being nerfed as it is so very far ahead of other specs for dps atm.  So it will be brought more towards the current lower dps levels of Survival or Marksman.  The current estimates are for Bm to remain a top dps spec, not for it to become 'crap'.   You'll also find that BM & SV specs can now operate on very similar gear with the new L80 builds far less sensitive to stat stacking than they were.

As for which build, it's a matter of what you enjoy most and what you intend to use it for.   Raids typically want BM for dfps and an SV mana battery to keep replenish up the whole time.  There is currently no real call for MM in PVE raiding as its dps is too low and its utility poor compared to SV.  3.0.8 will change the balance slightly.

Aye, currently BM hunters seem to be playing as an AoE class! And they're constantly topping DPS and damage lists in raids by a fairly significant amount. BM really does need a nerf as it stands.

I am going for BM and MM at the moment. And Tox, I wont send you my accountdetails!! :D
I can do both :) (I still have the urge to knife your father, cant give up on that.. :))
Plus, I have only been on for 5 mins, so I dont think I will get addicted any time soon. I am looking for lvling and no raiding. I am even unguilded. Casual gaming, thats all.

Thanks Sith, I will surely give you ahout if I need help :) And thanks for the tip you've given me :)

Now, I will continue my christmas holidays, and catch you all on the flipside!
