In the usual place. There are two sets, one 1024s ans one 2048s. The skins that come with the ...sim.. are 1024 so I* don't know if the lager skins will make any difference. Remains to be seen. I haven't done the FTarget as I'm not brave enough to drive it yet!

Oooooo luverly. :D
Ta very many Ron
:thumbsup2: well done ron
Nice Job! Looking forward to seeing you guys in all your DMR glory !
The FTarget is up. :)
I've also made some real advertising for the nKP tracks. (the add-on tracks are well served in this respect.) As usual, back up the original in case...
Usual place..
I have made an assumption the I shouldn't have made.
These real ads files go in \tracks\name of track\textures
Sorreeee!
These (http://www.finnglish.co.uk/Stuff/prato_ads.zip) are a couple of ads that are better for Prato. I think so anyway.
Nice job Ron! ( well, apart from bloody Ikea :P )
Well worth uploading at RSC me thinks.

Funny enough I feel the same way about Ikea. I'll come up with another one.
These are on my own website and I'd rather not have bandwidth issues. Besides, I couldn't take the snotty criticism! :lmfao:
I've made a couple of nicer ones.
Ron,
I found a tip here for skinning:
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showpost.php?p=3946490&postcount=4
It says that Alt-Tab works if full screen mode is disabled in the graphics screen. I tried it and it works very vell.

Yeah, I discovered that after I finished the skins!
Finished dMr skins
(http://files.deadmen.co.uk/nKP/dmrF1600.jpg)
I'll upload them soon. Each driver will have his own number.
The finished skins for F1600/1800/2000 are available in the dMr downloads section. Numbers: 03, 4, 22, 27, 65. Yeah I know Sean, but I think you'll succumb :norty:
Those look superb! :) Good job.
Quote from: Gnomie;258549Those look superb! :) Good job.
Want some? :norty:
STOP PRESS! Huge ricket on the F2000. They're not Fords at all! They are Formula Renault. Mon Deiu! I'll change them, can't have that. I'll be drummed out of the SAS (skinning authenticity society)
Phew! Sorted. If you've downloaded them (F2000 only) already, please do it again. If you look in the skins folder you'll see a file called Driver_name.png. Copy it into your car folder.
Jeez, this is hard work.
:thumbsup2: top skin'n again ron
Cheers Ron, looking good :)
Hi Ron, I've just downloaded all the DMR skins, thanks.
Two thoughts/questions -
How do I go about getting my own number?
Could you make a default, non-numbered DMR skin that people without an assigned number could use?
Cheers

First you have to be a dMr member and as you've discovered, we all have our own number. Membership is on an 'invitation only' basis, and those invitations are based on whether someone fits in with our general ethos etc. etc. :)
Oh, one of those 'etc's is how much money is in the brown envelope
OK I'll stick with my own brand of Fearce Racing for now. :)
Maybe you could have a skin for 'wannabe' DMR drivers so that other team members would be aware of them online and could assess their driving? :g:
Perhaps with a big red 'L' on the sides :norty:
Excellent as always Ron. :3cheers:
I don't think anyone would believe the 'L' plate Mark, you are to quick for that.
:blush::blush::blush:
Thx for the compliment Deetz, I'll consider myself quick when I can keep up with you and Moose and stay on the track for a whole race :learn:
I've made a skin for the F1600 called dMr#T(Trial). This is for use by anyone who feels dMr might be the place for them and to use while we peer closely at each other :flirty:. This skin is not for public use and permission will be required. If you think this may be you....ask. :)
I think that may be me :dribble:
Quote from: XLR8;262771I think that may be me :dribble:
Go on then. :)
Cheers Ron
Now when we swap paintwork it'll be the same colour :woot2:
Just kidding, I always try my best not to swap paint, especially with the damage model in nK!
:racing:
Think anyone would be interested in this if I put some numbers on it?

You've luckily picked a number not already taken. :D 64 it is.
Very impressive!!!
Done! :) Thank you Itchy, I'm quite pleased with that myself. :)
Awesome job Ron! :D That looks brill.
Thanks a lot Ron, that looks great, I'll have to start my own Team TurnBull Racing now! :D
Any tips on how you go about editing the skins?
Is it just a single image or is it all this layered DDS stuff?
I used to do skins for GTR but I've not had a go at nK yet.
Cheers
Mark
Nice Doors :coolio:
Mark, Doorman usually makes them with layers to make changes and unique bits for individual drivers easier. Just making them flat for use.
I'm sure he'll give you the low down himself.
:)
Blooming Heck, talk about teaching a Granny to suck eggs. After my last post I went and had a look at you Images on Flickr Mark.

Copyrighted of course. :flirty:

That is a TGA file which as my learned friend pointed out is a single layer. Editing it would be messy. It depends how picky you are. I go to lengths that are, quite frankly, never noticed by people. But I notice skins where lines don't line up etc. It's a cross I have to bear.

I've treated myself to a new skin for informal occasions. :) In the download section.

Holy smokes Doorz.. those skins look amazing! :) Besides, I never knew nKP could look so crisp and clear. I have to use reduced resolutions with nearly everything turned off -- it's like driving in dense fog in comparison!

Thank you for advice. I uploaded it to nkpcentral - the link you gave me in GPC. After uploading, I got automatic text, that they check the file before publicing. So, I think it should appear there in a few days.
They're quicker than you think. :) I've downloaded it already. Nice job. :D

I've put your skin on our download area Jape, so our chaps can get it
easily! :norty:
It's not really finished but it will do fine for tonight's race so (I'm easily recognizable :D)
So please download and add it to you're F1600 skins folder. :)

Very nice, and sponsored by Fullers :)
Great skins Ron, thank you :thumbsup2:
Ron, I know this means more work, but as we have a lot of skins now would it be possible for you to put each class into one .rar or .zip file? That way people only have to download one file per class and unrar/unzip the whole folder into place. Also as you update skins you can just drop them into the main rar/zip and date it so we can all see if we're up to date.
Hopefully this would resolve the issue of the last few races where a lot of people appeared in gray default skins?

I hear what you're saying. The trouble is that every time I make a new skin you'll have to download the whole shebang every time. Bet you anything you like someone will say 'Ron, can you make it so we can download skins individually?'
What's the consensus?
Quote from: Doorman;272509What's the consensus?
I must admit I'm with Mark. I hate having to download loads of different files.
My suggestion would be to still have them available as individual downloads, but perhaps every three months stick them all in a complete skin pack as well.
Best of both worlds :)
Just been out for a walk and of course, figured it out. What I'll do is make packs for each car. As I make a new one I'll top up the pack and leave an idividual skin. How's that? Good! I'm on it. :)
FTarget and F2000 now organised in a manner befitting Dead Men. :D
Good compromise Moose. Thx for sorting it out Ron. :thumb:
We aim to please. :)
:norty: I'll upload it and the dMr people who want to use it, feel free. :)
As you can see, it's a generic dMr for nKP and I'm NOT going to make them with names on. :)
And I say that with love.
EDIT: It goes in nkpro\equipment\helmets then chose it from the list of helmets OR copy the contents to the cars you want to drive with it. (I think. Doubtless someone will say if I'm wrong)
That IS a lovely shiny helmet there Ron, I shall be trying it on for size :lmfao:
I've done a Finnglish helmet too if anyone's interested. I won't post a picture, suffice to say it's fabulous! :D

I had freetime, so I tried to do some FR cars. Btw. FR car is impossible to paint correct from area after air intake over driver. You really can't get texts to straight line. Any advice?
And Ron, I'm sure finnglish helmet is cool, but I still like to use my own.. How could I add it to next season Finnglish Racing files?
Some nice skins there. I like the swoopy line on the side of the 'Armcos' skin and the colours.

I know exactly what you mean. Take a look at your finnglish skin in PS (or whatever) and you'll see the manipulating you have to do. I use a combination of the warp, rotate and perspective tools. Very much 'suck it and see' technique. See what I had to do to the stripes in order to make them look straight!
And yes, some nice work Jape. :thumbsup2: It's a shame there's not a Live for Speed like facility.
