this new forum is really confusing, i tryed to change my avatar back and it told me that the option had been disabled.

When will skins be available, the functionality is great but the look is hard on my eyes.

Avatars can now be 96x96 max.
You will need to re-upload.

Ok just in case someone misses this post about the forum changes.
I have saved ALLcurrent displayed avatars at the address below.
http://aj.skelton.users.btopenworld.com/dmw/avatars/ (http://aj.skelton.users.btopenworld.com/dmw/avatars/)
They are in a number format as given to it by the forum and not the original file name.
I,ll leave here for a few weeks then get rid of them ok.

Is anyone else getting some strange 'forum memory' behaviour? I am getting:
- Old cached copies of pages loaded rather than the new one (eg after a post to a thread I get the original view loaded that was prior to my reply). This is a real problem as it never seems to log which messages have been read! - When I refresha page I occassionally get taken back to a previous page that says something like 'your PM message was sent successfully' (where I had sent the PM some 10 pages ago). - Pressing the 'can't be bothered to wait button' often takes me to my Inbox - etc etc etc I run a cookie blocker (AdSubtract Pro) and have a filter set up for forum.deadmen.co.uk. Does this forum software need any other sites filtered or is there a problem somewhere? TL.

Post by: Dr Sadako on August 29, 2003, 09:21:09 AM QuoteOriginally posted by TeaLeaf@Aug 29 2003, 09:40 AMI get the same thing TL. I have come around it by selecting "view new posts" at the top. After I have read through the new posts I select "mark all topics as read" at the top of the new post listing. Seems to work that way.

I see this 'cookie amnesia' occasionally. <_<
I'm gonna make some changes to the cookie domain to see if that helps. I'll edit this post when I've done it. In the meantime ... if you're an IE user then make sure this site is 'allowed' in the privacy options. Edit -- I've made some changes to the cookie handling. Let me know if there's any difference.

Yep I get a few of these bugs, as well as the forum still showing unread posts (the forum logo still showing coloured) when I have read them all.
I'm a Mozilla Man (as well you know) so I don't think it's browser specific.

i hate the "this has new messages" icons, they suck and i find i have to concentrate to work out what i should be reading. I work with computers all day an my eys get bloody tired, having to try and figure out whats what is a pain. What control is there over these? can someone darken or highlight the iamges so there a bit more distiguishable. its really beginning to bug me.

oh, otherwise a smashing job with the conversion. I particularly like the fact "forum as read" doesn't take yo uback into the same forum.

Yeah I particularly like the "My Assistant" which is very useful.
I've called mine Matthew, as I have an assistant at work who is called Matthew :P
