my version of cs is telling me its out of date. Yet when i try to update it says it cant find one? what the hell is going on?
someone please help, i haven't played in 4 weeks.
your not out of date , yet, 1.5 is still the present vertion, well thats what i was using erlier 2 day.
ah, well its probably my network connection then. Ive just got my adsl connection up and running, i guess the firewall is not allowing access. gotta figrue that out now.
Battle on FBG with luck we will see you on the server tonight ....
its not letting me access the won servers, this is getting really tedious, stupid bloody crap.
i have internet access, it seems to let me almost log on to the cs server. i can use hlsw and that all works, so its not like any ports are being blocked. in fact as far as i can tell the router firewall doesn't do jack shit.
This whole units going to fly out of the window soon.
why would i be able to access everything except the won servers to verify my wonid?
Did you by any chance edit the woncomm.lst file when there was WON problems a while ago? I think i read somewhere that WON were doing something with the servers soon and removing something or other. Mine reads as follows and can be found in the Half-Life ---> valve ---> woncomm.lst location.

Just a thought.
check the won list and it seems fine.
I had that once and the only solution was to reinstall! I had no idea what caused it either. Pain eh?
well i formatted my hard drive, i then installed everything from scratch and found my backedup files were plagued with viruses. Now the thing here is i virus scanned, using the same software and virus definitions as i did when i went to the last lan and it only just found it in the stuff i backed up so what does that say about virus software being a bit choosy about what it detects.
The files i found ridden with viruses where the cs10011003.exe updates for my counterstrike. People may want to double check any CS.exe files they have. I forget the virus name. but norton should pick it up.
anyway im back up and running now.
