I am in the mid of Stalker: Clear Sky, and I already can tell that when I finish it, before continuing to Fallout3, I need some relief from a RPG oriented FPS, where you have to make sure you scanned all possible corners of the map just to make sure you found that artifact or that special armor.
Thus, I am intersted in a FPS (third person perspective also OK), where you mostly aim and shoot. I can live with go there click here to lower the bridge stuff, but it needs to be quite straight forward (like Halo, for example; but not like Serious Sam, which is way too simple/stupid). COD4 would be good, if I liked it, but I don't...
So can you recommend something current with decent gfx and gameplay? (preferably vs. humans and not monsters in the dark style)
Hmmm maybe the ghost recon games are for you? They are quite tactical but lots of fun shooting stuff up :D
What about F.E.A.R?
if he wants a simple point and shoot
LEFT 4 DEAD
great online and off
get it for 12 euros now
FEAR was ineed OK, played both the original and the expansion. This is what I am aiming for, though.
L4D: last I checked (i.e. just now) was 50$ on steam.

L4D http://g2play.pl/ 12 euros
Timeshift, Painkiller, Noone Lives Forever, Prey
All good linear FPSs

I suggest going to http://g2play.net/ (http://g2play.net/) instead, to see the prices listed in euros :)
Games I have on steam that match that:
Farcry 2 (You do some driving but it's mostly point and shoot)
UT 3 (No real story there, fast paced shooting)
Crysis/Warhead (You fight aliens or whatever mid way through, but it's humans for a good chunk)
Bioshock (A little less what you're after)
Most of my other ones are a little old graphics wise.
If you're including online play then definitely L4D or TF2 both valve games so you get an amazing server browsing system joining friends games etc.
TF2 comes with Orange box so you'd get portal and a few other things at the same time. If you have it already and just haven't played it for a while. LOTS has changed. It's still very fun. The scout update comes out soon too.
Out of everything I'd recommend UT3 the most though. fast paced no story, great graphics, it's get your skills up in no time ready to go on the hunts to the far corners of the maps looking for items.

Indeed. I am not sure I am that into zombies though. If it will still be on when I finish CS (Clear Sky, lol), and you guys will still play it, I will purchase.

thanks fot the recomendations.
Painkiller was too simple, some (too much) resemblence to the Duke/Doom genre.
Prey is not my cup of tea.
NOLF (2) - seems funny but gfx looks dated - Ill have a look.
TS seems interesting - Ill have a look.

Thanks, I'll have a look at UT3, I guess.
FC2 is boring, btw.

Zombies is fun, you sometimes know you're not going to make it on a map but then again, it's a good challenge. When you've finished CS we'll have some maps probably! :D
Oh and FallOut 3 has some new add-ons by the gaming community which I want to check out sometime.
I've posted about it a while ago.
UT3 is good fun mate.
What about Dead Space that looks pretty cool?
If you just want all out action why not BF2 or you could even try Day of Defeat
