It's easy to miss things in the volume of changes and I appear to have done just that: where do we intend our regular tournaments to now be placed in the forum? We used to have a Dead Men Teams section and I can understand the logic for moving the Folding element elsewhere, but now we have lost the history of the tournaments past and have no clear place to put them in the future. We usually do 1-2 per year, so would welcome some ideas and whether or not the old ones need reviving to a current not archived forum topic. Keep in mind, if old no good then why are holding on to the old LAN sections and not archiving them too? :P
TL.
I'm happy to reinstate it and Dead Men Teams could feasibly go under gaming under In-house tourney's for example.
I also wonder about the LAN but I think people do like to look back. They probably could be amalgamated though into one forum - current LAN and then previous LANs.
I'll have a think on the LAN one as that's more me and leave Smilo to tell me what/if he wants to do on t'other
How about Deadmen Events?
That covers both and keeps things tidy. The tourneys can be stickied with redirects from the relevant game forums..

I like it :)
Me too.
Anyone else?
I'm sure i ran the xmas cod one from the COD section. Do we need another sub section.

Not in my view. Each game specific tourny belongs in the game section.
that's what i said:g:

...and he agreed with you. You finished by saying "do we need another sub section" and OB said, "not in my view" :)
Don't be hard on him, English doesn't come easily to him. Not like what it does to me and you. :)
Sorry, it normally takes a couple of pints before oldie realises I am right :D
It makes sense to let the various tournaments live in their respective game sections but I'm worried they might get lost in there too. Tealeaf is right IMHO that we need to have something more high profile as well as keep a record of what we've done before.
We could could have an Events forum in the top level Community Section which just redirects down to the specific tournament or LAN forum in the sections below. I know Benny posted this first but I definitely considered it before him, he just stole my thoughts or something.
I like the idea of having all tourneys/comps/lans in an Event Section - it is neat and tidy :)
:withstupid:
I agree, 'tis nice and neat and, so long as it's used, adds community cohesion.
Can someone please make the final decision on this?
Thanks

Why dont you make the call. It seems to be a split decision at the moment :)
ok, I'll throw it. Event section. (sorry smilo)
That way you can have an events link in the menu on the left :D
not my call to make BB .... lol
Gandy, ummm don't we already have an events section on the left ?
OK done.
WDYT?
Ron - you're running an all-comers comp I see, is it OK to run a link from the Events thread to it? I now most ppl will know about it but it's more to show people what's on.?

Whitey - Worth adding in a link to dMw matches? Bit hard as they're about to be locked down though?
Arm - Same as above?

No the match threads are private and the people who play matches know where to find it. :)
Good cause they're locked down now :norty:

Ahh that's the calendar events. Yeah, keep forgetting about them as I don't use it!
I mean a link that just links to the events section of the forum. Or a page, that explains about them, with results and stuff. Links from the page to other info. More work here though.
