I do want to get a prize fund started again this LAN - even if it's just a can of beer.
I'm also definitely going to get the HHA back from BFC as last time we had no focal point for announcing winners and it kinda flopped.
Ghost thought about getting a couple of Bag of Crap's for prizes which was a fun idea - alternatively we could get a couple of sealed BOC's for auction.
I'd like to run the auction again - I'm sure most people have something they don't want and which is lying dusty on a shelf they'd like to donate. Last time was fun and generated £120 which was pretty good going.
Any thoughts?

We would have to make sure everyone was there at the same time. We usually stagger the sittings to let the chef cook up the flesh.

Fine. We have enough to do on the Friday night as it is organising the competitions.
We'll leave the auction to the Sat before announcing results and HHA as per then.
wrt the auction we could have a display area with the lots to be auctioned sitting around so people can see what they might want not to miss? Not sure if it'd be a good idea or a bad one ofc :)
Could also do some sort of lucky-dip / tombola style thing depending on how much stuff there is to save PEN having to auction 5 used mice, etc Give items (or groups of similarly desirable items) numbers and fill a "hat" with bits of paper with all those numbers and have people pay 20p or 50p a ticket or something depending on the quality level of the average "prize"? :) Put in a few cans and maybe a bottle, etc. Could work out a decent enough balance I guess.
prize fund wise - just to wrap it up. are we doing some? even if its a case of larger and a case of bitter so we can hand out a couple of cans as prizes?

We'll do a supermarket run as before but make it simpler. Let's just get a case or two of lager, bitter and cider and winners get a can. It's simple and it's cheap.
