What happens when we get too much money in? Bearing in mind our supporters are pushing us towards Â£1,000 per year and the income from the LAN (although with reduced fees) will probably bring in a further Â£800.

Nice problem to have but we could get into the situation where don't need to buy anything and we're getting more and more cash-positive :rolleyes:

I thought we could reduce the LAN fee again but then that only benefits some of the Community, then I wondered whether we could increase the length of subscriptions from one year to 18 months for instance......

All a bit prem I know but I was just wondering :).

Good question and one we need to consider for sure.

We could look at adding value to the subscriber by, for example, supplying free web hosting.

I agree with Oldie, we should look to increase the level of support & services we can provide to members, including running more game servers. If the money collected goes to provide for additional bandwidth costs then I'd be as happy. Primarily I would not look to see us become profit making, if necessary we could reduce the renewal cost of the subscription to reduce turnover to bring it in to line with expenditure. Fortunately the expenditure is not yet dwarfed by our income so it is a problem we have yet to have!

I'm sure that if we go into profit and we keep that fact public, as I'm sure we will, then no one is likely to call foul. It's amazing how people can do some odd sums and convince themselves that they're being robbed...... although the free bar at the LAN does sound nice :norty:
