Title: How to release a map.
Post by: Whitey on February 18, 2009, 09:47:16 PM
I was looking through some of the newer maps on fpsbanana and came across de_vostok, I haven't tested it yet but was impressed by the video that came with the map, it's also on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45i6JFFAK6E

I've got 18 maps sitting in my map download directory and hope some of them are good enough for testing on Meathook tomorrow night:

 de_abandoned_hdr_beta3
 de_dust_aftersource
 de_energo_4
 de_greece
 de_hydroco_2
 de_imortalkillers_v3
 de_kitkat_station
 de_nohn_final
 de_nordic_chapel  (Could be too big)
 de_offshore_b3
 de_oxygen
de_scud_for_css      (we've played this before on MH but on CZ I think)
 de_urban_3
 de_vac_b3 (too big maybe?)
de_vostok      (we've played this before on MH but on CZ I think)
de_westcoast  (inferno look to it but could be too small)
 de_winery_final_3
 de_ww2_final_4

I'll go through them tomorrow and if there are any good enough, I'll post up some links.

I'll try to make it tomorrow too, I would like to see the one LeRouge(?) posted a few months back, can't remember what it was called, but it was on a ship, medium sized, well detailed, could have potential

Ill be there tonight for the testing.

The map looks nice and diverse, from the limited amount of information about the map layout in the video cant really be sure how well it will work, but i think it looks rather large, several attack ways and so on. But lets see tonight.

We had a look at that one and there were issues that meant it wouldn't fit in well with TCS.  I can't remember what they were off the top of my head, maybe Sadako can?

I think we'll have plenty of maps to try out later :flirty:

I'm working on it :flirty:

They'll be available on fast download as well but it would be best if people could get them early to avoid too many delays.  We won't have time to test them all tonight so I'll split them up into two packs.

I'm looking forward to playing de_vostok again although it was dropped from the rotation in 2005 as some people didn't like it.
