Title: Servers Timing out and latency problems
Post by: GhostMjr on February 27, 2009, 09:30:59 PM
Ninja and I are seeing huge ping fluctuations both in HLSW and in tracerts/ pingplots for around the last week or two. The dmw server's either show as timing out or simply not responding and then dip back online but with high latency or fluctuating latencies. I am on nildram and he is on Be Broadband both at different adsl exchanges.

Pings can fluctuate for meatlocker for example from an ample 20ms up to 70ms+.

Please can someone look into this?

Thanks,

Post the pathping.tracert and pingplotter logs from the last week or two please.  Might have been nothing to do with us at all and more to do with Aunty Betty digging up her secret toyboy from underneath her patio and hitting a cable with her pick.

yup, traces please. I can do nothing without them as everything looks fine here. No problems to report.

see what I can do. It's been OK tonight but Friday was a mare with noticable PL on all dmw servers. I have hlsw running on my other screen and at one point 3 of the dmw servers timed out.

Just to reiterate, we appreciate the annecdotal, but we really need the data to advance this beyond 'it is your ISP'.

download pingplotter and leave it running during a session...
