Open up your "C:.Program Files.ActivisionCall of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare.main.demos" (Vista users will find them C:\Users\'yourusername'\AppData\Local\VirtualStore \Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\pam4_402\demos\)
all your recorded demos will be here by default. If you recorded the demos playing a mod they will be in "C:\Program FilesActivisionCall of Duty 4 - Modern Warfaremods" open up the folder of the mod you played and there should be a demo folder in there called 'mydemo.dm_1' .

Take your mydemo.dm_1 and put it in "C:.Program Files.Activision.Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare.players.demos" (Vista users: C:\Users\'yourusername'\AppData\Local\VirtualStore \Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\demos - hear i had to create a folder called 'demos' to get it working myself

Now run standard Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer game, bring down your console and type "/demo mydemo" and your demo should begin playing. Type "/disconnect" to leave the demo.

Replace 'mydemo' with the name you used to record, i.e. 'dMwvid1'

Good info but how do you record a game or does it record all games?

open console, type /record Dewey1
you'll know if it's working cos you'll see the details bottom left of your game screen.
when you're done, type /stoprecord
what always surprises me is that the demos are such small files
