i got steam downloaded 1.6 on my isdn.

went to play cs it comes up but i can still see my taskbar and i do a crtl alt delete and it says counter stike is not responding

:/

any idea guys?

Hello mate

I am also on ISDN and if ya leave it loading up (mine took about 1hour) it does eventually come up, even though its saying cs not responding it is still d/loading stuff ....bear with it

.....I tried to set a lan game up for me on Dust2 ...when it eventually loaded it was on de_airstrip .......but at least it came up

I have been informed that once you've been on for the first time it DOES get quicker .......lets hope so or that delete button is gonna get used !!!!!

I haven't experienced anything similar to your problem but you should check what ports you have open if you have a firewall. Read this topic:

Initially my 1.6 server was unstable. However, having ditched 747 as a map it is rock solid. That particular map is, IMHO, flawed in 1.6 and causes the server to crash.

Stick with it, it did take a LONG time the 1st time it started, and looked dead as a dodo for a long time.

It is downloading all the updates that have come out. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a latest "full" one so it has to download them all. :(

thanks guys its now working well on Bots.

when i join a server online my ping shoots to 300 and its really laggy (im on isdn remember)

any ideas why its laggy or is it my connection

i hope the full release isnt as laggy :/
