Title: Delivery times?
Post by: Jabbs on March 07, 2009, 08:34:44 PM
Hi guys,

Has anyone else had problems with ebuyer.com delivery times?

When I was running an IT business full time, I ordered a lot from ebuyer and had a number of occasions when orders were late and ebuyer's attempts to help were lacking.

My current order is no different!

I've waited in two days and the kit for new pc has not arrived!  The order was done on Thursday night for 'next day' delivery.  It's now Saturday and it hasn't arrived.  So counting the weekend it's gonna be at least three days late!

Tracking the order I noticed that Parcel Force did not get the consignment until 6am on the Friday which would make it difficult for Parcel Force to deliver  on time.

Having said that, Parcel Force seem to have been incapable of delivering anyway!

What about anyone else?

If you ordered it Thursday night, you have probably missed their cut off time, which means they would of only been able to pick it Friday, so i would expect it Monday tbh, it's rare to have Saturday delivery cause most couriers dont deliver on weekends, (next day aka next business day)

Just looked on Ebuyers site, Next day delivery is only available if you ordered before 8pm, Saturday delivery is an additional cost:

Thursday before about 3 and I'd expect it on Friday. But Thursday night counts as Friday morning and next working day is Monday.

Nextday delivery generally doesn't cover saturdays unless you pay the extra, I've had some stuff come on a sunday which was due Monday (or tuesday, it wasn't set for fast delivery). Much of the stuff I've bought off them with standard delivery comes next day anyway, or the day after at the latest, rarely the stated +5 days. But I haven't used them for about 5 months or so. So I've not had much troubles. I didn't see any of the stuff Snokio found then.

I've only used them once for twice and have never been happy with them or their deliveries.

TBH I'd rather pay more and get it from Scan. At least they're quick and reliable and, in my experience, have a first rate customer services team

It's dependent on what time the order was placed, otherwise Jabbs would be in the same situation with Scan (who's cut-off time is earlier than Ebuyer I believe :g:) as he is with Ebuyer (Although I would of expected them to give you an answer on the progress of your order :sideways:).

If it was before that time though, you can claim your shipping back at the very least. I have never had to, so I don't know how difficult they might be.

None the less, I know it's frustrating when having to wait for deliveries and not having this weekend to set it all up

I usually go for ebuyer free delivery so that use to take up to 7 working days. Anyway if parcelforce is late you can claim back the postage but only around 20% i did for another parcel out of principle but alot of others would let it slide. If it is late then do sign for as late and make a claim. Before you sign check the package and sign as "unchecked" ebuyer take a photocopy of your signature for their records and often the tape says you are signing for what condition the product is in on receipt. Also track the package online if it seems to be parcel forces fault then let ebuyer know. I remember when i made my parcel force claim my package moved 2km in 3 days and that was next day :(.

It has nothing to do with cut off times actually.

I ordered in good faith through their system which said I had x hours and x minutes to receive the order by Friday.  Their system should automatically say whether it's possible to do it on a particular day or not (which is what I thought it was doing).

In any case, ebuyer have responded saying that I can get a delivery discount.

Perhaps I was expecting too much to order on Thursday (late afternoon I admit) and to get the order on Friday?

Your expectations were in line with their delivery 'promise' surely?

Indeed, that was what was said in the basket so yes I expected it to arrive when promised...

Ah well, you should live over here, you'd get used to broken delivery promises. In the meantime, console yourself with this (by clicking on this link, I certify that I am 18 years old or older) (http://weblogs3.nrc.nl/geld/wp-content/uploads/websites/ShitHappens2.jpg)
