Well I actually had a suggestion (other than the suggestion box who someone else suggested to me awHile ago :g:) of having a 'dMw game tracker' on the forum main page, just to see if there is any activity on the servers, i know there are programs you can download which would tell you, but seeing that most of us are active on the forum, it would be a great tool and at the same time help get them servers full (I am always searching for Benny's and lib's signature to see if anyone is on L4D servers, I would have them too, but my sig would be HUGE) Doesn't need to big, just a number count?

We (the admin team) have discussed this many times and we feel that, although the tracker would be of benefit to our members, unfortunately it would advertise that our servers are empty most of the time. We need to attract new members and this would not help.
anyone with vista can get a steam favorites tracker and a cod 4 tracker
set them to our servers and you are good to go
i think there is a l 4 speed one as well
if you have xp then i dont know

How about have an ip to which we can go to to see the game tracker.
For instance when we had the availability site we were sent to an ip away from the forum. We could have a link on the forum that sends us to an ip or thread that you can only see whilst logged in for have significant privies.
Is there much point when HLSW does everything we need?
It's free, works pretty well and lists all our servers

I've downloaded a Windows Vista sidebar gadget (this one (http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDetail.aspx?li=0bb51a58-ad01-456d-ad0c-295368c51104&bt=1&pl=1)) which tracks servers. It does have limitations in that you cannot connect to the server through the gadget and I don't think L4D is supported (COD4 is though)

What about a page for contributing members or badge holders that shows server status. We already know the servers are mostly empty, but when they're not it's good to see and get involved.
I agree with HLSW after door's recommended it i have since installed and made a server file which i passed on to a few mates.
However, others are asking for a website alternative.
Rather than asking for it to be done why not do it?

If you add them to your favourites they will appear in the gadget (even though they don't appear in favourites). The gadget reads entries from your Steam favourite server list.
Yeah that's great -just a shame it doesn't list the CoD servers - or can it?

Once the L4D browsing issues have bee resolved by Valve I will add them as well but I'm unable to claim them for dMw at the moment.
I notice that those that have the gametracker images as their signature have them set up so that only the image opens when you click it. Is it possible for them to open the gametracker page? I might add a couple to my sig if it can be done.

Yup but you mwill have to hand code it - Gametracker creates the code for you but directs the link to the image rather than the server page:

I wondered about that. I tried to add the L4D servers to my Steam favourites and nothing showed up. As soon as I fired up Steam Gadget there they were. Confusing but useful.
Well obviously, I'd like to advocate a baby eating night on the servers, but due to public outrage, we may have to facilitate a compromise........how about, as most new server members tend to be young people (The sign of the Cross), that you alternate serious tactical gaming with out and out FUN......(you remember, when you were young, don't you?!!):taz:
Alternate days of "serious" gaming with "Bloodfests" and "Ultimate Carnage" so that the young (okay in spirit only) amongst us get to have a picnic in the park.........I'll wrap my babies accordingly¬!!:devil::devil:
