I've always been annoyed by the flickering ads on the bottom of the Messenger window. Got rid of it by using THIS (http://www.messengeroo.com/windows-live-messenger/remove-block-disable-ads-windows-live-messenger-wlm-ads-patcher/). Works a treat on the latest Messenger (2009) :)
Thanks! :D
Works brilliantly, much appreciated. I always use Adblock so i'm used to not seeing adverts but the ones in MSN obviously don't get included. The worst thing about them is that if you hover over them accidentally they maximise. :ranting2:
Ah well, all is good now. :flirty:
Wow scary, I was just thinking of looking for something like this tonight and here it is :D
Golden! thanks doorz :yahoo:

Aye always handy.
Basically, it edits the 'hosts' file in:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
and adds the following line which can be done manually if you prefer:
0.0.0.0 rad.msn.com

Of course! I was simply informing the visitors to this site who obviously aren't as technical minded as the super geeks (which you all are) on here :norty:

Or you could just use Pidgin (http://www.pidgin.im/), and you'll never be bothered with any of the mumbo jumbo in Windows Live Messenger at all :flirty: Not to mention that you can use it for all your IM accounts simoultaneously!
I tried Pidgin but found its user interface rather disappointing.

It's the best linux one, I still prefer Windows live messenger over all.
Back on topic. Thank god those poppy-upy ads are gone.

For Linux (and there's a Windows port to I believe) I actually prefer aMSN. It's a lot closer to MS's own MSN client, which I actually quite like. Ever more so now i've got rid of those damn ads.
