2 new graphic cards hit the shops this week:
Ati launched there 4890's (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=56&subid=1403) starting at a very resonable £209 inc vat
then followed by nvidia with the gtx 275 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=56&subid=1410) starting at a not quite as competetive £229 inc vat
have read a few comparison test and theres not much to choose from them
both seem to slot into the market, bridging the gap between the HD 4870/4870x2 and the gtx 260/285 respectively.
QuoteThe GTX 275 cards are clocked fairly high on the core and shader domains (compared to the GTX 260), making this product very fast. In fact it will even come close to the GTX 285, yet at a significantly lower price
QuoteThe Radeon HD 4890 uses the RV790 GPU the same as the 4870 yet a better yielded version which can take a slightly higher voltage and clock much higher.
hopefully a price war is on its way :norty:
ive talked with a few buds over at xtremesystem the last few days, which got their hands on the 4890, so far they got em clocked as high as 1000mhz on the core and the GDDR5 to 4300mhz.. tho a japanese site got the mem to 4500 so far :D and this with a crappy watercooler setup, 1000mhz on core as doable with a good air cooler tho ;)
Tho looking forward to seeing how the 275 overclocks :)
