Title: HLSW etc
Post by: Browne on April 03, 2009, 11:51:11 AM
HLSW:

I have a little problem with HLSW and wondered if anyone has the same.

When I open my fav. server list (where I have all the dMw servers), I can see who's on Boomer, MH, all the CS:S servers. However, I cant see anyone on the L4D servers. I see that there are X no. of players but players names are depicted by a "?". Is this normal?

ETC bit:

Also, while it's on my mind, the disconnections at the end of a match are beginning to tick me off. If I "openserverbrowser" in console when this happens and try to reconnect to where I was, the game crashes (I can get to windowz to end the game ok), but have to go through the whole rigmarole again to reconnect to the server. Even if I try to connect to a different server, the games freezes again. Could do with some help on this one.

I have exactly the same problem, I think Blunt does as well so it must be a L4D thing and not our problem.

with the open server browser technique it has a habit of opening a password prompt behind the console window.

openserverbrowser, resize it so it's fairly small and at the bottom of the screen, then close your console, connect to the server, enter your password, then a password box appears behind the server browser box, you need to click the 'ok' button.

After some tweaking with the config, the public server is now showing up OK from HLSW and from the Steam Group in L4D.  The same changes have been made to the private servers but they still don't seem to be working properly.  It must be something to do with having a password set :sideways:

You can make it smaller, but you can also just hit the console button (`) to remove the console and can click the server password box thingy, tis what i do,

Awesome noticed this earlier.

Thanks Whitey.

At least it wasn't a generic LFD problem :).
