My name is Rob, I’m from West Sussex. I am a project manager in a big nasty bank full of cigar smoking fat cats and money men who plan to steal all thre money from children and remind me of Mr Burns but without his sunny personality. I’m married, no kids and a very tolerant wife.
Quad core Q9450 2.6Gb, BFG GTX 260 graphic card 4Gb Ram 10mb Cable DSL
I’ve Played Elite, Hitch Hikers Guide, the whole Morrowind series, Medal of Honour, Call of Duty, Unreal Tournament, Quake, Baldurs Gate, Assassins Creed,. Just about every RPG title that promised much (and usually didn’t deliver) and a good few first person shooters. (and the old version of Doom is still better than most)
What kind of raiding experience do you have?
Pretty much all of the Classic WoW and some BC but only really 10Man Naxx on WTLK
Been in a few guilds, mostly quite small and never been asked to leave (or got kicked out ) Most of them either disbanded or just faded away. Currently in a nice small guild, people are cool but not enough raiding.
Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you?
Macklock (lock) Mackuid (druid) its not a complicated theme but it makes it easy for friends to find me.
What are your plans for the game?
It would be nice to see some end game content and do a bit of gaming with some slightly more mature players. It would be great to find a slot in a raid group where I can do my job, rely on the others to do theirs and all come out at the end with some nice gear and hopefully a few laughs.
In what way would you like others to know you?
Reliable, that’s pretty much all, when someone in the guild or a group says we need a rogue I want to be a name that comes to mind as someone you want in your party.
Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
There is, it has to be said, an element of irony (sarcasm) about me or quite a lot in real terms. About the only thing you will hear from me during a raid is laughter (especially if Lola falls off something) I don’t want to lead or argue about nonsense and I get enough stress at work. I want to have a giggle, occasionally talk rubbish and be part of a successful group be it raid, party or just grinding.
I like the way the game has developed to emphasise the team aspect of gaming. I like the size of the world and its variety of challenges and I like the mix of talents, skills and classes to ensure a variety of characters within each class so you can feel your character is unique.
Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
I hate the way that character types like Rogues and Hunters and even priests to some degree are being overshadowed by multi-class characters like Death knights, it takes away the mix that made the game good in the first place.

I like the up close combat and the stealth abilities, the pickpocket aspect is a lot of fun and the potential mayhem you can unleash in the right circumstance is extremely satisfying.
What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
DPS obviously, Saps, distracts, disrupting casts with Kicks & dots. Being behind the target gives you a chance to watch for attacks on casters and sprint can be used to save a clothie in dire straits. Rogues have lost a lot of power relative to other classes but a decent rogue can add value to any group.
Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those?
I primarily use a combat build with a focus on poison to add damage. I’ve tried different builds and styles for PVP and PVE and there are benefits to a many of the variations but a good combat build is a good grounding for pretty much any scenario.
What do you look for in a guild?
The ability to have either a sensible or ridiculous conversation appropriate to the mood and circumstances. Some organisational skills so that a raid happens when it is planned and a distinct lack of bitching or whining. Some ambition to advance both individuals and as a group without fanatic obsession and a sense of humour.
''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
If you’ve ever read one of the “Malazan book of the Fallen “ then you’ll know what a T’lan Mass is. Pretty much spot on Dead men raiding. If you haven't you wont and this will mean absolutely nothing to you. (You could always buy the book)
There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
You were recommended by a friend I’ve known in game and RL for years. She says you’re ok, that’s good enough for me.
Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding?
Lola and Sleepyy, been playing with them for a few years now and they both know their way round a raid and a guild.
How do you know them?
Lola I’ve know from work and RL for years and we’ve been gaming on Wow for 5/6 years. Marcel I know from Wow for about the same time.
Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts?
Yep
What do you think of them?
Jolly good. I like the slightly more adult aspect and some consideration for work and family.
Annoying questions A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
Given that squeezing lemon juice in their eye is unfeasible down a cable line then I’d pretty much ignore it, I play for fun and am pretty laid back.
Cake or Pie?
Pie of course whoever had a great steak and kidney cake?
Thanks for applying and looks good! I'll go grab an officers attention now
By the way, slightly off topic, where abouts you from in West Sussex?
Mack is Mal's voice double! He's alright I s'pose altho I have to work with the sod...
Crawley,. but you have to say it as if you've just come out of the bookies with a pram, 20 malborough lights and a bottle of thunderbird wine.
If you can picture yourself wearing a purple velour track suit as well then I think you probably have the picture just right.
Having said that I was born and raised here and despite everything it's alright.
