Work and training... and some more training when they changed the standards... they finaly found a offshore rig crazy enough to have me.
So in related news, i will be offshore for close to a week and a half (10 to 21 April), so unable to join in any of the fun. I hope you all have a good easter and see you on the flip side. :byebye:
Well with all the easter eggs being eater here in eastern netherlands, you might actually be glad they pay your for getting the hell out of here :P
anyways, enjoy ur stay as much as possible ;)
Veel plezier daar Bastet.
GL&HF.
Heard the money pays well.
Well done M8:thumbsup2:
Don't forget the seafarer's motto
"Never Leave your friend's behind"
:D
Actualy, if your running with a escape set you do, and give fire teams the possition.
Anyhow, i made it offshore, my first heli ride was a bit bumpy, but otherwise uneventfull. I had a small tour of the housing block (between the two of us we have about 12 sqr yard/meter). And ill be going out tomorrow. Wish me luck :)

Id rather not do that. Allthough normaly having a desk job i am not used to walking so much all day.... And offcourse the three locations i need on the rig are (for a rig) fairly far appart on different decks. I wish theyd install some elevators in this place, but unfortunatly its all stairs.
On a brighter note i did just finish my first shift (7 to 7 is quite long tbh). Trial went well, and am enjoying some well earned rest.
Sounds like a good change, sure u'll be fine.

Hey, some regular physical activity might even be good for you :showoff:

Atm, nothing at all. Due to the fog no personel can get to the unmanned platform to start some of the equipment.
As for details, i am afraid i cannot tell. I cannot even tell what platform i am on. Security details and such.
On the heliport it wont even say where the flights are going, the only thing you will see is that the heli is going to platform.
Today the fogs still in. Quite hard to find stuff to do after 24 hours of having shift with nothing to do. Forcasts say tomorrow the weather might be flyable. So maybe Thursday there will be something to do. :sideways:
Tbh i dont see why its so hard to find people for this work, you dont do anything at all, even while its "busy"

Sounds proper mysterious. Are you sure you're nowhere near Guantanamo Bay?
Seriously, throw a couple of lines in the water, see what takes. You might get some colins.
I made it back home in one piece :D Heli flight back was a bit cramped, but nothing a few lazy days wont cure :norty:
