If you don't know about R2P give THIS (http://race2play.com/) a look. I created a Dead Men Racing (http://race2play.com/team/dmr)team and there are 5 places left.(the membership I bought, Standard, only allows 1 team with ten members.) But you can race there as privateers.
Great thing is, Moose scored his first win for dMr this afternoon. This he did mostly by coming first! Well done Stu. :yahoo::yahoo:
Alright, I signed up. How do I go about joining the dMr team? Is there anything I must do, or is it just you who adds the drivers to the team?
Btw, nice to see that the dMr team is active in different sims :)
I'll do my best to get as much of these races in as possible, but I'm a very very busy man lately, it seems :sideways: It'll be nice to "represent" dMr with hopefully a few more drivers :) I'm sure it'll be Moose raking in all the podiums and me just battling it up somewhere midfield but hey, as long as I have fun it's all good ;)
On a sidenote, does anyone else find the R2P site an absolute nightmare to navigate? For a service with as many users as they've got, I find their site to be one of the most user unfriendly ones I've ever seen.

Yes, I couldn't find my way around, was looking for what races/cars there are for Lfs.

Click here (http://www.race2play.com/sim/show/15). Those are the 3 LFS series currently running (actually only 2 as there is one with a "Euro" and "US" part). Each series consists of a number of races, for which you can sign up individually. So you don't necessarily have to run all races of a specific series, you can just sign up for the individual races you like. There's always a few weeks in between races. I can imagine there are people who don't like that, but I find it a good thing :)
I've signed up for the upcoming races in both the TBO and GTR series (on R2P they're called "Touring" and "Grand Touring").
EDIT: hey, I beat The Moose for once! :D
Yup, its the biggest mess of a website I've ever come across.

The TBO races (which are the ones I'd be interested in running) seem to be on collision course with the dMr Thursday races, though.. :g: What to do, what to do?

No contest! Thursday night is dMr long race night! :flirty:
I'm interested in the TBO as well, will do some practise first before commiting as I'm average on a good night.
Don't worry about your pace Jamin. There's a huge variety of skill levels at R2P
If you can keep it on the black stuff then you should get a good race :)
The main thing is to get as many people on the grid as possible. LFS is a new sim at R2P and we need to build up the interest levels.

Aye, I noticed that as well  As much as I'd love to race in R2P, I think I'll unsubscribe from that one because I prefer the dMr long race.
On top of that, I noticed that the GTR race I subscribed for is on a day where we already have a "family dinner" planned, so I'm afraid I'll have no choice but to unsubscribe from that as well  Not a good start for me
Would you mind un-subscribing from from the races you can't do please Oliver. :)

Oh definitely, but the thing is, it's not really certain yet that I can't do them. So I'm holding off for now. The races aren't for another 10 days at least so I figure I have some time to see what's what. I'm not one to subscribe for a race and then just not show up, don't worry :flirty: And it's not like the races are full yet, are they?
EDIT: I had a closer look at the race details for the TBO race on Thursday April 23, and if I set my time right the Quali starts at 8:15PM, Race at 8:30PM. The race is 10 laps, so I figure it should be finished by the time the dMr race starts. So that'll give me a good night's racing, I reckon! :yahoo:
Note that I'm in the timezone GMT+1, which means that the dMr races start at 9:30pm for me :) Gnomie, I don't know what timezone you're in but I think it should work out for you as well. Again, that is if I've set my time settings correctly at R2P. Still haven't found where to verify that
Yup, that works out perfectly obsolum.
Good news, as i was looking forward to a few DMR long races again. :)

Hehe, sounds good! I'll skip the first race in any case, though, so please tell us how it worked out afterwards. :)
Isn't life grand? :D
Alright, since tomorrow will by my first race on R2P in the running TBO series, I have a few questions.
1) What is the server name? Is it always online, or only prior to the start of each event? (I haven't bothered to actually look for it in the server list yet).
2) Are real names required for the race, or can I use my usual nick (dMrObsolum)?
Uhm, I think that's all for now. If anyone has any tips or pointers please feel free to post them. I'm looking forward to tomorrow evening and I want to make sure that there are no last minute surprises or anything :)
The server is called race2play.com. I would imagine it will be running the correct combo tomorrow.
Real names are required.
Since starting iRacing and HistoriX I've decided to pull out of the TBO league at R2P. I will continue with the GT's and netKar leagues though.
I simply cant race all these sims to the standard I'd like, something has to give. TBO's are out.
I'm out of LFS altogether for the time being. I got bored with it, and the R2P events weren't (aren't) what I had hoped they'd be. I guess LFS still needs to build up a big enough audience over at R2P.
I can't even seem to find the time to fire up rF for the occasional race anymore
I just noticed that there's a new LFS series starting over at R2P on October 8th, using the infamous UF Baby-R.
Dates and tracks here (http://www.race2play.com/schedule/show/482).
I love the names they gave to the individual races :lmfao:
The only problem I can see is the time at which the races are held: wednesday afternoon at 3pm GMT. Call me crazy but I think most working folk are at work then.
Anywho, since I'm unemployed I will most likely be signing up for this series, provided I have sufficiently recovered from my back surgery to get behind the wheel again by that time.
Hopefully this series will have more people signing up than the previous TBO and GTR series.
How did your op go? Remember, take it easy. Come back healthy. :)
D'oh! I just noticed that the starting times aren't 4PM but 4
AM  I guess I won't be participating in this after all. A shame, as I was looking forward to it. I've been bored with LFS for months now but this actually sparkled my interest again.
Quote from: Doorman;289875How did your op go? Remember, take it easy. Come back healthy. :)
The op went fine as far as I know. I haven't really asked the doctor how it went and he didn't really say, either, but I guess if there had been complications he would have told me :) For the first few days after the surgery I thought I was never going to be able to walk properly anymore, but I've come a long way since then :) The recovery will take longer than I had expected, though. I'd expected to be able to go and look for a new job after 6 weeks but... it looks like it'll be more around 6
months, according to the doc  Eh, it's hard to tell so early, I think. It all depends on how well I recover.
