Bit early i know but you know how keen i am to get stuff into my diary so i can plan ahead.
Have any further dates been booked for future lan's or are they still being worked on.
I'd prefer one before October if possible :P.
I might be organising a semi large event in bournemouth in the summer with a few friends and the like so if you feel like a weekend's entertainment your more than welcome :D.
For the dmw lan an early October / April set of dates would be preferable although i think everyone prefers the dmw lan to coincide with school holidays.
23th of October has allready been booked I believe
Schoolholidays? What are those?:flirty:

I doubt any parents with young kids at school would want the LAN during the holidays, I know I wouldn't and couldn't attend if it was. :)

Agreed - I often have my kids during school holidays and therefore would be hard for me to attend.
LAN XVI dates were posted some time back, so there's nowt we can do to change them now GM and tbh the school holidays are unlikely to be the time we hold them. It makes hotel availability, travel & family arrangements more difficult for most members.

LAN XVI has been booked in for the 23rd - 25th October 2009
Once the dust has settled, I'll get on and try to get next April's dates organised.
We try to avoid school holidays if we can as it clashes with holidays etc and means extra childcare/minding/work for SWMBO for the Friday.
Thanks for the response chaps.
Bring on October :yahoo:

Can you try to avoid the weekend of the 24th aswell please mate
From the already posted thread, I'm not sure we have any choice. The 2009 dates were the only ones available.
TL.
Correct.
The April and October dates for 2009 were the only dates available...
We'll look at the 2010 in a couple of months when we get school schedules and holiday dates.
i think for ppl with kids the mid april half term and the halloween weekends are the killers, for next year i think the april one half term is from around the 11th to 18th of april ish, so a late one might better
I was thinking about going to the November 2009, but looks like I wont make it. Will probably get to the April 2010... such a long way off though. I was wondering if someone could tell me a little bit about what its like at the LAN events, I was also wondering how long the drive is from Cornwall. Always room for one more in my car if needs be.
Can I recommend a little reading from our once virginal LAN'er Jabbs

It a good read and has all the info and covers all the scary bits.

I travel from Plymouth so if I go to the next one, maybe we should share the cost of travel?
It took me about 5 hours to get to the last one in April by the way. For you it's quite a trip and you will probably be just about the furthest away...however, it is worth it I promise! See what BrotherTobious said as he quotes some guy on here who seems to know what he's talking about :narnar:

I have no recollection of the event in question.
Just do it.
I'm sure you 'n' Mags would have fun. We'll get you to the airport and back and make sure you leave in one piece(ish).

That's what people tend to say *after* the LAN. :)
