To save a lot of confusion, not to mention angst, all the tracks which are compatible with the server are HERE (http://files.deadmen.co.uk/nKP/rFactor%20tracks/) Use these and you'll be trouble free. Just unzip them and put them in Gamedata\locations. Don't fiddle! Oh yes, you'll have Northamptonshire already. Let this one overwrite better yet, delete the existing one first.
I might add something on that. If you are going to overwrite existing track with older/newer version, then your rF may crash just after the track has been loaded.
So far I've seen it only on few tracks, but you never know.
Every track has it's appropriate .HAT file, eg. Castlecombe_2005.hat all of which are located in \UserData\LOG\HAT folder.
If the up mentioned error occurs, what you need to do is go into that folder and delete the .HAT file.
This is just in case...
And i'll add...
If you only use a few mods then what i'm doing is having a clean install of rFactor light (only 100 MB) for each one. that lessens the possibility of things going tits up.
You can keep your tracks in just one of your installs and point the other installs to that track directory in your Config.ini
I'll add to that that if anyone is using Lime Rock, it will refuse to work the way Stuart described it, you need to have it on both locations, in install you are using and the folder where your track are.
And I'll add to that...:blink:

Can anyone confirm that if I want to change the laps to, say 6, in the next race that this:
/racelength [] // admin/server command changes the race length for the next race: =0 sets a % length race, =1 sets a -lap race, =2 sets a -minute (timed) race, =3 sets a -lap and -minute race.
Translates to this:
/racelenght =1 -6
:g:

Probably yes :)

Not last night it didn't. :g: We'll get there, in the meantime Cadwell Park has been added to the rotation. :woot2: That'll be great for minis and Abarths! Get it from you usual source.

I think you should try to enter that into dedicated server...
When the server will be up? :norty:
:taz:
I have some suggestions for tracks, was trying them today:
Crystal Pallace and Goodwood.
Both found here -
http://www.motorfxuk.com/tracks.html
You're an impatient little Croat aren't you? :rolleyes:
QuoteCadwell Park has been added to the rotation
Just firing it up now. :D
Neither Goodwood or Crystal Palace load for me. They both just sit there on the loading screen doing nothing.
Any ideas Domagoj ?
By the way, I've just got my new wheel, a DFGT, and I'm now as slow as Ron :roflmao:
EDIT: Solved. Thanks Ron. I had to create a GPLEAtracks folder to dump them in.
Crystal Palace: Now IN THE ROTATION. :flirty: Extract the folder straight to locations. Don't remove it from GPLEAtracks!
THIS is racing! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY5zdnGvT0c&feature=PlayList&p=41D602D90BB4BF41&index=22)
This is how it finished (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDAK4jBKmow&feature=PlayList&p=41D602D90BB4BF41&index=23) Good old Murray :D

Please don't make this a typical rFactor race for content. Lets pick a few good tracks and stick to them.
If I'm going to have to fiddle every day to be sure I have what I need, then I'm out.

I don't understand what you mean. Fiddle?

Find out what tracks I don't have, locate it, download, install, test ... fiddle... :)
Go to DMR downloads, download, install. Took me all of 60 seconds, its really not that much of a hassle:g:

It is if you have to do it everyday or multiple times a day as Ron keeps adding tracks, though. I'm not whining, but I can see Vobler's point.
On a related note, which track is currently running? In the server list it says Rouen, but I don't seem to have that in my Locations folder, and I don't see it available for download on the server, either. What am I missing? I keep getting disconnected with an error "could not find track" or something along those lines.
It seems to me I'm the one who's doing all the fiddling. I locate the track, I download it, try it to see if it comes up to scratch, install it on the server, test it, zip it up, upload it to our downloads, make a post about it...with instructions and then wait for a :thumbsup2:
But I do all this because I love you all. :rolleyes:

EDIT: rFactor doesn't seem to like me ALT+TAB'ing out of it :angry:
Oliver just for you. Here (http://files.deadmen.co.uk/nKP/rFactor%20tracks/Virtua_LM_Rouen.zip)

Figures. I didn't download the last 2 files so of course you just
had to run one of those on the server when I tried to connect... :narnar:

No it doesn't and it won't let the Windows key have a look in either. I tried running in a window but...yeugh!
Oh, while I'm on a roll. There are at least 587 tracks available for rFactor not including the default tracks. I have 12 in the rotation. Not exactly overkill eh? :sideways:
Now, let's just enjoy. Please. :)

Alt tab chrash is a known problem with this mod. It was thesame in GTL, and it was "ported" to rF as well. You may guess the modders themself aren't sure what is cousing it.
Goodwood is available at the local source. Read the readme. :)
:thumbsup: Some more cracking races, this time in a mix of cars. But I have officially now fallen in love with the Cortina :wub: , a simply sublime chassis balance.
There appears to be a Ford theme going on with me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll find other makes I like. :thumb:
Sort of off topic, but check out the view from top of the Mount Panorama!

You can see my 'ouse from there! :lmfao:
Have any of you bright sparks figured THIS (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=274057&postcount=7)out yet? I've tried every combination I can think of and just get a blank. /racelenght=1-6 :taz: Spaces, no spaces, typing in 'please' and 'obey me!' None of this works.

I don't know, but looking at the syntax I would think that the command is simply:
/racelength 1 6 *shrug* Have you tried that yet?
And in the same manner, if you want to have 10-minute races it would be:
/racelength 2 10

Yep, done that. I'm going to try:
/racelength code 1 value 6 :lmfao: What's to lose?
Isn't there a forum where you can get help with this? On rFactorcentral or something?
Also, you know what I think would be fun? If you set the time accelerator setting (or whatever it's called) to x25, so it gets darker as the race progresses and you race the final few laps in the dark with your lights on. Gives it a whole different atmosphere, I find. Of course, you need to have the long distance lights upgrade for this, the stock lights are rubbish! They seem to project as much light as the headlights in LFS do :lmfao:
Alright! I'm prepared to offer a substantial amount of luncheon vouchers to the first person to come up with the correct answer. :flirty:
I've made a post on the RFC forum but with no response as yet. :sideways:
It's starting to get on my wick! :taz: (see, I hardly ever use that smiley)
Did you try
/racelength<1><6> or
/racelength 16
?
Just guessing. :)

Could it be
/racelenght -1 -6

Ok. As I don't know rFactor server commands its time to ask silly questions.
What do you want to do?
And how do you know it is not working?
I think rFactor uses Championship files to store some info. Can these files (CCH) override your settings?
Like this?
GAMEOPT_race_finish_criteria=1
GAMEOPT_race_laps=6
GAMEOPT_race_time=120
GAMEOPT_race_length=0.100000
Right. I will explain in simple terms how to change laps. Fist, ans most important, type /racelength not /racelenght and if anyone posts rofls I'll... I'll...Well just don't that's all. :angry:
So it's: /racelength 1 6 That's it. :rolleyes::doh::sad::taz::yahoo::lmfao::roflmao:
