Saw this earlier. Storyline was pretty good, everything ties up nicely, I'm sure there's even more depth to it than I took in on this viewing. Acting was good. All the characters behaved as you would expect comic book heroes to, and they were well acted throughout. I was a little worried when I saw mention of Will.I.Am in the intro credits. He actually played a decent size part, and he can act. So everything was fine.
The action sequences were impressive at times though as is usually the case the could use a better grounding in physics. I guess I'm especially sensitive to these things having nearly finished a masters in the subject.
Now for the general graphics. I think they used up most of their budget with the large impressive special effects and left the cleaners to do some of the slower scenes where you'd expect more details. One scene where it shows his claws without him moving around seems barely rendered, metal like highlights, but no reflections of his surroundings and they didn't apppear to line up especially well with his hands in my opinion. Probably the same technique used for the faster scenes, but doesn't seem to hold out when you see what's going on.
Overall I liked the film, and some of the large scenes used graphics fairly impressively but it was let down at points which is where most of the point are lost.
7/10 - Well worth a watch. The long trailer for Star Trek on a screen that big is a sight to see, and I'm looking forward to that now.
Considering his past I'm very surprised nobody shot him in the head sooner when he was still all weak and spongy.
Might check this out, I like the X-men films but this one I thought wasn't get amazing reviews, I could be wrong.
It was alright.
I was dissapointed, the story was a nice idea, but I felt the special effects ranged from almost impressive to down right poor.
Found this though if you want to know what the movie is like.

QFT. I actually liked the movie, but the effects specifically of his claws when in the bathroom (the bit from the trailer) were atrocious. Also, when Professor X turned up briefly at the end, was Patrick Stewart just caked in makeup to make him look younger or was he fully CGI or what?

These were the main bits for me. I think it was a layer airbrushing effect. He didn't look fully rendered, but as if they had put soft focus over parts of his face. I could be wrong though.
As long as it's better than the last one, I won't complain, although I was a little bit disappointed by the casting of Gambit.
I really hope they've gotten it as close to the comics as possible and apart from that I won't complain.
.... In case any of you haven't noticed.... a little bit of an X-Men geek here.... ^^;
