http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-Diseases
After discussing with people at foldingforum.org, and reading old posts, I learned that what folding is focusing on, is not so much the "front line" research. It is instead aiming mostly at "filling in the gaps" so to speak, to gain a better complete understanding of protein folding, which then is related to understanding and curing diseases. This means that we are not folding to find the direct cure, but folding to gain a better understanding of proteins, which then is applied to cure diseases such as Alzheimer's. The link above, however, gives an idea of how the findings so far, from folding, has helped the understanding of various diseases.
I think it was an interesting read, much better than the page listing the TONS of articles relased so far (http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Papers) with findings, which are good at understanding protein folding, but, naturally, what we here focus at are the specific diseases... well, at least I do...
Also, from time to time, you can follow Vijay's blog for some more info on such here (http://folding.stanford.edu/news.html)

Pft, I bet that it is Oth who is donating some of his l33t folding power to you, and in return you probably don't beat him up as much as usual or something :sideways:
Jabbs: ofc I do, dont we all? Oh wait... its just a crack.. thought it was split in two... :D
Bob: I never hit anyone, and thats HONEST! But I did tell him that if he gives me some of his l33t powers I would cook his fav dinner next weekend. :)
A really cool link from Duvel regarding folding (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2009/06/15/what-is-folding-and-why-does-it-matter/1)!

Sorry - I badly put what it was to say that i was meaning .....
That page that delanvital linked to .... has a link at the bottom that takes you to the page I gave the link for.
It's about a folder that is using 46 linked GPU's and doing 200,000 pts per day. Plans to get to 51 gpu's.
There's some great pics of his "farm" and even a vid here:

Don't forget there are other pages after that one. Not very easy to spot in amongst the busy page but there is a 'next' link and a dropdown menu so you can choose from other pages to view.:eyebrow:
They have a new thing on @ Bit-Tch; How to set up F@H (http://www.bit-tech.net/bits/software/2009/06/17/how-to-set-up-folding-home/1)
