Title: AFK for a while
Post by: Grimnar on May 12, 2009, 08:10:34 PM
Well most of you know what is going on with me...

Blizz doesn't want me in Ulduar...  today i crashed out again because of a corrupt map once again....  (soz Bel as i was your driver)

This happend already some times to me i think this was crash 7 maybe even 8...  I did all i could think off...

Only one thing i havn't done and that is an complete reinstall of WoW and dl the patches...

I am willing to do that but not right now. This because of i am getting a new mobo within 3 weeks and going to reinstall windows at that point including WoW. And i aint really waiting for doing it twice in 3 weeks time...
As the install aint the biggest problem it are those patches to download.

I can raid any instance only not Ulduar...  so i am sorry to say that i won't be up for Ulduar for the comming few weeks..

Or someone has a nice idea to solve the problem without reinstalling WoW.

I have had wierd corruption issues in the past with Wow too, so I am now in the habit after every patch of taking a complete copy of the Wow folder and dumping it onto my NAS box.  I have not had to use it very often, but it made the two occasions I did very simple and easy to 'reinstal' WoW by simply copying the entire folder back.

I just have one suggestion here, that worked for me a couple of times with different games. Have you tried to update your graphic card drivers? Since patch 3.0 the developers have implemented new features to keep the game up to date with the most recent graphic cards, those include some graphical changes that may cause errors with previous drivers.

yeah i have the newest drivers avail for my card installed.

And also i have a backup of WoW on my backupdrive and used it already..

I can give it a try to use even an older one and see if that works.

Will check that out this evening and we will see when i go into uldu if it helped or not...
