Post by: DaRkLiGhTeR on May 13, 2009, 03:46:16 PM
Right i need you peoples help i have this problem where i cant actually sign in when using the latest version of messenger, it comes up with the error code 8007000e and yes ive searched all over the internet, so im currently using msn 7 cos its the only one i could remember but if one of you you could come up with a solution id give you cake.

ive already tried completely uninstalling msn and deleting anything remaining, deleting the temp folders, deleting my account from my msns memory, restart the pc pretty much everything i could find on the internets. i had this before and only way i could stop it was reformatting which i really cant be bothered to do so please help

did this by any chance happen after updating Internet Explorer (fx upgraded to v8)?

I can see most of the solutions offered via google are deleting temp etc. which you seem to have done already. There is this one though, quite amazing if it is only that but hey ho, worth a shot:

Quote3. Fix for Error Code 8007000e :

To fix the error 8007000e MSN Messenger check that you have internet connection and you do not have the option of Internet Explorer "Work offline."

To do this:

1. Open an Internet Explorer window and click the "File".

2. This opens a menu. At the bottom make sure the option "Work Offline" is turned off (without a tick on the left).

3. You may need to restart your computer to make sure that everything returns to work properly.

If the problem persists reinstall Internet Explorer and check if you have to install updates Visit Windows Update at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/).

Are you behind a proxy? You might have unselected use internet explorer settings.

Have you tried resetting your router? I sometimes can't connect when my internet is being really slow. A quick reset usually does the trick.

They get back to me with one reply per day usually.
