Title: Monday night CoD in the face! (There's only two things that smell like CoD...)
Post by: [BIG] Ranger on May 18, 2009, 10:34:03 PM
Just wanted to hop in and say thanks for an enjoyable game earlier this evening!

Very competitive and enjoyable.

A bit sad I only managed one game - your server seemed to be full earlier when I tried. :(

Still, a fun round was had. I have to admit it's actually a much more pleasant game with limited players, usually I find it's just total bedlam on the big public servers (me no like!)...

So big ta from the BIG Ranger.

See you next Monday ? (I'll try and get in a little earlier to avoid the rush! LOL)

Interesting few games I had, and somewhat annoying. I guess I'll get used to been shot through walls. There were 2 guys doing that most of my games anyway, one called oPtic and another, I cant remember.

Sorry bout the team kill Dewey, felt bad about that.

Also, if you let me have a little newbie rant. Communications were rubbish. I had no idea where to go, what to do, comms were very quiet except for Blunts airstrikes. Or maybe thats the way the game is played? Never mind, I'll learn.....

Great to see you finally made it:D

If there were a few more games taking place in the week, we could do some coaching sessions.
TK's are so easy to do on hardcore, it only takes 1 bullet. I didn't see you TK but I watched Dewey TK you:D he was crouching behind a car and you were doing the same on the other side, he looked through the window and lined you up....Bang!  Tags don't show up when looking through objects (car windows, railings etc.) so you have to be careful.
If you ever want a map walkthrough etc. give me a nudge:D
I agree about the comms though, they were pretty pants most of the time last night.
When we use Teamspeak, the comms are usually excellent.

:) - yeah - My PC is *still* grumbling like a bitch (I really do need to over-haul it)...But it's working...Just!

(Dewey is trying to convince me I need to buy a new one for when OFP2 and ArmA2 come out!)

I noticed how quiet it was on comms. I shall have to get my Teamspeak sorted.

I did a couple of tea cakes (TKs) - sometimes they are unavoidable, but I do try to say 'sry' (as long as I'm not being shot at at the time)...

Sometimes if I run around a corner into a team mate I get a freight and pull the trigger unintentionally! LOL

So if I di tea cake you - please accept my apologies in advance!

Browne, don't give it a second thought - I'm used to being TK - usually by Brother Tobius and last night by Legs - who does the same thing when we are airsofting lol!

Browne when you first start it is always a bit hectic and there were the 2 wall spammers which really didn't help.

Comms were worefull on the quiet side.  We need to work more on this.

But great games, and Dewey not TK you for at least a month now!!

I'm still getting to grips with this whole wall spamming thing (when it is and when it isn't)...

I *DO* fire speculatively through walls (gasp!) - BUT only under two circumstances:

1. Fire is coming AT me through a wall (a bit of a give away that there is someone there!), and ...

2. The radar clearly shows that there is someone behind the wall...

But - would dMw members still consider these situations 'spamming'?

I belive the rule is if you see the target enter behind the wall or see them duck down.

Well thats what I try to play to.  Not that you need it mate you were on fire last night!!!

Wall Spam
Wall spamming is defined as random, "Spraying" gunfire into walls and other easily penetrable objects with small-arms fire looking for hit indicators and is not allowed. Using suppressive fire is. A team can use suppressive fire if needed to allow the movement of the rest of their squad. If an enemy is known to be hiding behind a wall or object, then the player is allowed to shoot through the wall/object. THE MOUNTED MACHINE GUNS DO NOT APPLY TO THIS RULE, IT IS A SUPPRESSIVE FIRE WEAPON.
Rules of wall spam taken from the rules section

Also, the Squad MGs are also Suppressive Fire weapons so the same rules should apply (imo).

In reality, you shouldn't be peppering a wall just because it is a common hiding place - but if you know someone is there then they're fair game....

I only shoot through a wall if I've seen some one there or entered - I wouldn't waste my ammo spamming - thats when I'm using my M604e
