Ok, so what is the biggest retail U3 USB memory stick avaialbe? I can find 32GB U3 memory sticks, but if I am going to buy a USB memory stick I'd probably go as big as I can, at least sufficient to stick a 50GB bluray on it.
The 64GB Corsair memory stick looks nice, but does not mention U3 anywhere on the literature that I can find.
Anyone know?
TL.
I think the Kingston Data-traveller has U3 technology?
Does it need to be a memory stick?
You could get a usb/ nas cradle for a 1tb drive for around £50. I think tesco had one for sale.
Just remembered something,
Surely if its set in FAT32 as most usb sticks are not sure about u3 sticks they will have the 4gb limit meaning yes it can hold that amount of data (64gb) but unless it is rar'ed into 4gb chunks it will not be able to transfer it.
Don't be greedy. 32GB is enough for now. It's at the flatish part of the price curve. I'm only on a 50GB partition for my whole installation of windows. The advantage of a 64GB is limited. 128GB has the cool factor for breaking 3 digits.
I can see U3 being very useful in future, taking your whole computer with you on a pen drive. Computers in public places set aside for pen drive users. The only thing I can say at it's current state is I can't find a definative list of U3 supporting products anywhere. Even their own forum has very little info...or even activity.
